I'm so happy with him. I have to say, he is stubborn. But I knew he would be. But he is very smart. He is also very loveable. He was following me around today wanting me to sit on the floor so he could climb in my lap and nuzzle up to me...

And I can see the protectiveness in him already. We heard a pack of coyotes last night, and he didn't cower. He stood with his hackles up and watched! He is going to be fearless, and devoted!

April, I haven‘t researched the breed in detail, but have learned that they become very protective and territorial. As far as strangers are concerned, are they developing a "Fila like" temperament?

Tyler, I think they have a lot of similarities with the Filas. But if properly socialized, I think the Alabai is more tolerant of strangers. They don't like to be pet by strangers and are aloof, but they will alow it. As where from what I've read of Filas. They really don't want to be approached by a stranger at all! And I'm sure if they are socialized properly they might comply. In my opinion the Fila may have a higher drive than the alabai. They both are cat like, but the Fila has hound in them. I think Filas are great dogs, but I wouldn't be willing to take one on myself

After looking at all these puppies I'm not so mad with Cruella Daville! I can see why she loved the puppies. Softness for days! And so beautiful! She just took it too far!

Maybe its a good thing we live so far apart... I think if I was with in a 100 km I would have to do a drive by hugging at least once a week

And his fur is amazing. It's supper soft, but also very durable. He can get full of mud and then be clean a couple of hours later! A good brushing and he looks as if he were just bathed.

Logan is 10 weeks old weighs 31 lbs. He had a growth spurt! He's doing great. Hasn't had any accidents inside in a while. Already knows sit and down. Working on stay now......Also he has gotten way better with Sophie. He still has his moments, but he's much more gentle. I think he realized if he's not easy with her, she won't play with him. And he loves being near her, and getting her attention. It's so cute!..

I don’t think I told this but good info, Gus got a small piece of something lodged in his throat, he worked it up after gagging some, I was worried what else he had swallowed. I think he found a small piece of plastic, I wasn’t taking any chances. One teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide per ten pounds will empty a dogs stomache within minutes. This is not recommended for just anything, it’s worth googling it though. I was worried if it was plastic, a shard would get caught in his GI tract. In a panic or situation, this could be life saving.

Thanks for the tip! Logan had a piece of plastic in his mouth earlier. I have to watch for hair ties. 6 girl's in this house, and somehow we are always rounded up the hair ties. He had one in his mouth going to town on it like piece of bubble gum.
