Only dark water. I got washed off the jetty at the beach as a kid and tangled up in the sea weeds. I could see a giant fish below me and it kept going into the dark and coming back. Lifeguard pulled me out of the water then said wow did you see that shark? I woke up 30 minutes later in terror. The next year I was about 9 I tried to get over it by swimming out to the half mile buoy at Huntington Beach. When I got there I looked down and froze. There was a Barracuda no less than 3 feet from me. I climbed on the buoy and screamed until the LG came and got me. I pointed to the fish and he said yep big barracuda. Even in our lake I get freaked out when i swim in it because I can't see the bottom. Did you see tham movie "Open Water" I think where the couple were stuck out in the ocean all alone. I had to turn it off about 5 times because I was having anxiety attacks watching it.

But something that I thought was horrific was in the movie King Kong (new one) where they were in the chasm and all the giant bugs came out and started "SILENTLY" ripping people apart or eating their heads off. Really gave me the creeps because there was no noise from the bugs at all.[/QUOTE

Mike, I say this with pure love in my heart for you....but, perhaps a trip to the wizard would be beneficial to you? (ie, does the cowardly lion in "Wizard of Oz" ring any bells for you?) lol jk :)

I am pretty terrified of driving on bridges that are over or near water and driving on roads that are very close to the water. I've been a lucid dreamer for as long as I can remember and I can't tell you how many times I've had a nightmare about my car ending up in the water only having to dream it over and over again. I've probably drowned a million times already and because of that I have a major panic attack every time I come close to water when I'm in my car.
Guess who has to drive over the Missouri River every day going to and from work...This chick :-(
Fortunately I found a bridge into the city that has pretty tall cement guards so it blocks the view slightly and keeps me somewhat distracted.
