Your weird phobias

I would have never thought you would have a phobia like this Ruth. Aren't we all funny with the things that set us off :)

Its a weird one! And whats kinda frustrating about it (for me) is that I really don't know WHY it set me off, and WHY it still bugs me. Since its just that ONE movie (and remake) I've never felt a need to try to DO something about it, but yah....

Spiders and snakes are no sweat for me.

Any bug that moves fast or I don't really know what it is, I'm outta there. Centipedes are big one for me. I woke up about ten years ago, went into the bathroom, and noticed something in my hair (I have long thick hair). Upon looking closer, I came to realize it was a dead centipede. It had gotten tangled in my hair during the night and died. Nightmares happened for YEARS after that...
And scorpions. I moved to San Antonio for a bit, and swore I would be on the first plant back to WI if I ever saw one. Thankfully, my parents had the sprayer guy come ALOT while we lived with them so I didn't see one. Their water bugs (Cockroaches) weren't fun either. But I can't even look at a scorpion

Scorpions hurt about like a wasp but no big deal really. We have giant centipedes in west texas that eat birds. I woke up to one biting my leg when I was a teen and it left a nasty soft tissue scar. Still the thought of putting on a pair of boxers with a brown recluse in it is the worst fear I could ever imagine...

Hmmm...I have no normal phobias. I am not afraid of any animals, critters, bugs...Nothing. I have an extreme case of Claustrophobia but nothing else scares me. I do have a couple crazy odd things....I can NOT touch cotton balls or Styrofoam. They freak me out and I can't even be near them.

There are quite a few things I absolutely cannot stand: spiders, roaches, roller coasters (fear of heights), seeing other people throw up, I'm very uncomfortable around reptiles in general, junebugs slapping me in the head (GROSS!!!!) & uhhhh I have a phobia of spaghetti bc it looks like worms. Heart worms to be more exact.

Oh that reminds me - I had a sipper cup once when I was maybe 4 or 5, which I hadn't used for a while. Of course, then forgot about it. Found it when I was 6 maybe when we were moving, and was so excited I filled water and HAD to sip through the spout. Next thing I know, there's something struggling inside my mouth, which almost made it down the hatch!!!!!
Ran to the kitchen, spat in the sink (got spanked for it), and whaddya know? There's a cockroach breathing a sigh of relief in there. :scared2:
Haven't been able to drink from a straw since then!

Yeah, I can't see human bodily fliuids ( vomit, etc) besides blood either without feeling sick.

A close friend of mine (about 6'4", maybe 250 odd pounds, body builder) faints at the sight of blood! I mean, I understand people who can't handle it, I can't understand giants who can't! :lolbangtable:

The sound of cotton balls or soft fabric being torn absolutely freaks me out, it doesn't scare me, it's just one of the worst sounds you can hear, nails on a blackboard times ten, it's just awful!.

Is that the giant red headed centipede? We saw a shell of one in the corner of the upstairs hallway in between the baseboard and carpeting right outside my baby daughter's hallway. This is just when we were moving into my parents upstairs. So I Googled it and almost had a heart attack. They showed one attacking a mouse on YouTube. I spent the next four hours centipede proofing my daughter's room instead of helping move boxes. I put glass jars on the crib's feet and anything they told me to do online. Give me a roach or scorpion over one of those any day. That's the only one I ever saw though, thankfully long dead. It was a good 3.5 inches long, and I'm sure not that big compared to how big they can get.

I'm not sure but 3.5 inches is small, the ones I've seen were 8-10 inches.

That. Junebugs are disgusting. When I first moved to Ontario, I almost moved back to BC because of the junebugs. They would always get caught in my hair and it just grossed me out. I like to forget that junebugs exist.
