What do you do?

Kind of along the lines of the getting to know you thread, what do you do for a living? Or for a hobby? I'm currently working at a local animal shelter where I also volunteer. I have a background in early childhood education but I think I'm going to stick with animals. I'm hoping to start school, once we move, to become a vet tech and eventually a canine nutritionist. My biggest hobby is probably reading, although researching the heck out of everything comes in close second haha. My husband is in the air force, so that can be interesting at times!

I'm a computer technician. When I get a chance my hobbies are drawing and when I have enough money do barrel racing, looks like so much fun!

Good thread k I'm a full time mum, by day I home school my kids due to never ending doctor/therapy appointments. By night I'm usually sitting with a pile of fabric, trying to turn my hobby into a business from home making bedding for animals. At the moment I make bedding for all pocket pets/small pets www.critterized.com , but something tells me I might just have to expand to large/giant dogs I also have a small scale Rattery and attend rat shows for my state I've had to slow down heaps due to moving but hopefully I find my sewjo again soon.


@Smart_Family Sounds like being a vet tech would be perfect for you do you get moved around a lot with your hubby in the force?

Miss_C I love rats. My kids had 2 dumbo males1 hooded male, & 1 hooded female. The males were neutered. The girl, whose name was Chica (the kids were currently taking Spanish) was much younger than the boys so they didn't seem to want to fight over her. The lack of testicles might have had something to do with it too.

I'm a chief electrician on an international pipelaying ship. Currently we are outside of Panama waiting to go through the canal tomorrow. I work for six weeks then I'm off for six weeks. Here is a link to the ship if anyone is interested..

Oh and my hobbies are my kiddos and anything they do, baseball etc...Harley's, fishing we do a lot of skiing tubing as well in the boat, me and the oldest son love to go cliff jumping in Lake Travis, and of course my dog. When I am off work the kids are with me every second They aren't in school and my furboy is with me at all times. I also have a side business that I do on my time off from the house building hot rod offroad and street electric golf carts that do 40mph and pop wheelies

@ruby55 oh so jelouse! We don't get dumbos in Australia :/ and we really want them lol at the moment I'm working on bettering blues and chocolate coat colours as they are fairly new over here. My kids love them and they make great therapy pets for them

medical assistant/ office manager brings home the bacon. I student train at our dog training facility and train my dogs in all sorts if things. I also dabble in horse training focusing on cattle sorting, but also barrels and poles. Other than that hobby farming keeps me busy, and when I can squeeze it in, reading.

I manage two car electronics shops. We install stereos, video screens, alarms, car starters and things like that. I have been doing it for 10 years or so and still like going to work. Its also a bonus that when I took the job I made it known that when I get my dog he will be coming to work everyday and they agreed so thats gonna be a good thing, my one shop is like 6 blocks from a dog park .

I am full time domestic goddess and recently I part time at a jewelry store while my kids are in school. Smart_family, I was a vet tech during my first year of college and I loved it, it is a wonderful, rewarding, tiring, stinky job. I would recommend it to anyone who loves animals and doesn't want to look pretty all day. LOL I found out mascara was a waste, but the kisses from the pups were too sweet to pass up!!!! But now I run a full time taxi service to my daughters to soccer, ballet, piano, horse riding lessons, school, etc. And my Mamie loves to ride shotgun

Its a time speed event that involves a pattern with barrels. I haven't even mastered the trot only done the canter once, so its just a dream for me.

I work in the motorsports industry. My primary jobs are sales/management/tech but I also get to design motorcycles from the ground up. Besides my means for bill payment, I enjoy all sorts of things.. On the top of the list would be sailing, hiking/walking, riding my Harleys, going to the range, getting tattoos, restoring my old cars and of course being with my 3 pups (no order to the list).
