  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

What do you do?

It's a mouthful: Immunohematology Reference Laboratory Technician. I work for the Red Cross in St. Paul. We field calls from hospitals and blood banks looking for blood that's got a certain specificity (negative for particular antigens). I spend most of my day testing blood to find antigen-negative units and getting them out the door to wherever they're needed.
I used to go horseback riding a lot until I had to put my buddy down a few years ago. We've now got the space for a horse but not the spare cash, so maybe someday!

I have loved reading about everyone!!!! some very very interesting jobs!!! The Legal world is not as interesting as some of the jobs i have read people have, or nearly as challenging as being a full time mom...kudos, i have no clue how you parents do it!!!

I do not have children and am not married, but my dogs are my family/children i guess..lol...As for work, I am trying to build my own clientelle and business as a Mediator, and then Mon-Fri I work for the BC Government specifically for the Ministry of Justice, as an Adjudicator.

Hobbies, well i love boating and fishing, camping. In the winter i like snowboarding and curling up in front of a wood burning fireplace (not a fan of gas fireplaces). Of course my favourite hobbie all season round are my pups! Walking and hiking all around Victoria and the islands with them!

I agree my "9 to 5" isn't so bad, especially when you have a good working crew :) I like working with the government so many perks, now I just have to get back in the system. I miss geing a GS.

My uncle is a Lawyer and owns business, my aunt is also a Magistrate. I think it takes a strong kind of personality to be in the legal business. I have too much of a soft dispositon for that. :D

JennQ, I'm single with no children as well. Well unles you count Thor, Khan, and Silvio ;) I don't mind though I come and go as I please.

What part of Mexico are you in? When I worked land I worked in Poza Rica(love it there) Villahermosa, and around reynosa(dangerous) We now do a lot of work in the bay of Campeche, in fact I flew into Cuidad Del Carman a few weeks ago and we set sail for the panama canal. We just finished a year job in Campeche Bay.

Damn, that's an awesome job, wish I could do that.

I'm 39yo, studied architecture. I focus on project management and construction of big scale projects, currently I'm working on a huge low income housing project. I have a M.D. on Human Resources and worked for about 8 years on an automotive Japanese corporation in charge of Training, but got overwhelmed by the stress (automotive industry is the worst) and came back to architecture.

My hobbies are MMOrpgs, cooking, dogs, ecotechnology investigation and reading to my daughter. My only hobbies used to be camping and outdoor sports, but with the current situation in Mexico is nowhere near safe to just grab a backpack, fishing pole and a dog to camp for the weekend =/

Damn triple post lol..
I know exactly where Coahuila is. I grew up in south Texas.

The wife and I spend a week or so in Mazatlan every year as well, We love it there, wish we could take the kids because it is such a great experience but were not willing to risk something happening to them.

Love this post. I'm a single, full-time mom to Titan and I also work from home as a booking agent. I book gigs for rock bands. I used to book 16 bands but reduced it to one for the time being. I needed a break after 6 years dealing with musicians. Seriously, I adore musicians. I'll probably go back into booking full time later this year.

My hobbies are music, reading, and going to the gun range. I'm a big advocate for CHL and I talk to women who are interested in CHL. I believe in the right to carry!

For fun I volunteer with a guide dog group, walking the dogs. I could help with puppies, but I spent years working with a very large golden retriever breeder, and I'm pretty much over puppies. So I walk the adult student dogs.
I was in the college bookstore business for years, & kind of miss it, as the hours were great & being around young people keeps you stimulated when you're..erm...getting up there in years like me. Now I'm just a slave at a local convenience store. Crappy hours; crappy wages; but it's very close to home & the boss will give me time off almost any time I need it if I ask far enough in advance.
I also volunteer with the dogs as therapy partners at hospice & nursing homes. Working on getting them (the dogs) back into an elementary reading program.
And in my spare time, I pet sit for a local pet sitter/trainer, who occasionally has to go out of state to do contract work for a different guide dog organization.
Also take care of 4 bullmastiffs, 4 - 7 feral cats (in the process of taking on another colony close by), & 2 very silly lemurs.
Forgot to mention that I'm usually the "bucket bitch" (unpaid kennel help) at most of Ruby's conformation shows. I help take care of Ruby, & all of our other doggie friends' dogs. Most of them have 3 - 10 dogs at the shows; it can be quite daunting when you have to be in the ring & one of your other dogs has to potty/get groomed/etc.

To join in the chat! I'm currently a stay at home mom working on getting my daycare license because I love kids. I was working in a daycare with preschoolers as well as working in group homes and facilities with mentally disabled adults and kids. I loved it but while it was rewarding and fairly good money for the area I live in it is way more rewarding being home with my son and not missing out on that precious time with him! Currently though my boyfriend is planning to go back pipe lining so that will probably start a whole new adventure because I've never really been more than 5 hours from my town well ever! (sad i know). Biggest hobbies are probably drinking a few cold beers, going jeepin or 4 wheeler riding. Nothing too exciting here really! Random I'd really love to do flower landscaping but I haven't figured out how to go about that yet but one day maybe!

I work at a financial asset management firm as a departmental supervisor manager currently, been there almost 8 years...sounds nice but its basically the Office without any of the fun haha. When I have downtime outside of the dogs I like to draw, write and am addicted to movies and television. On top of all that I have a big passion for music (very heavy metal) and used to be in a band so keep tabs on stuff like that. I'm really interested in farming and all aspects of that so have been doing lots of research and stuff like that.
