Tips on getting my 6 month old Boy CC to jump into the car.

On the beach he will happily jump right up in the air all four legs off the ground.
He wants to get in the vehicle but will not lift a paw! just turned 70lbs so its staring to get tedious:)

Have you tried tossing a few cookies in there?
My boy won't jump in, but I can at least get him to prop up his front end and I hoist the rear in.

as every one has said, you need to make getting in fun, toy, treat or one of the family, i have just about got gypsy to get in to a vauxhall zafira from the road by making it fun, she is just 4 mouths

I have never been able to get my boy to jump in by himself, but our vehicles are quite high off the ground so I really don't want him jumping. In our SUV I fold down the back seat and he can step in that way, in the pick-up truck I have him prop his front legs up and then I lift his back end to get in.

I can coax Denna into the car, but that will normally just get her front feet up in the back of the Subaru, and I'll hoist the back-end from there. If I throw a treat in (any ol' treat will do), she'll jump straight up from a standstill into the car. Go figure.

I have a ramp that Kryten uses to get into the car. He has never even tried to jump into the car or lift his own front end up despite everything I tried.

+ 1 on the ramp. The only time Daisy has gotten into the jeep on her own was when we went out to the country for the first time. We were unloading the jeep and doing various things and we left the jeep doors open. Mike tells me to look at the jeep and there was the silouette of Daisy in the front passenger seat. Very funny. But aside from fear of being left, she isn't getting in without the ramp.

I never had a problem with luna jumping in. But Maybe its because my seven year old daughter always goes in first and she follows her in. Also everytime she gets in without the kids its to get them so maybe she just put it together. Get something to motivate her to want to jump in like others have said food or toys. A ramp also sounds like a great idea!!!!

Ruger jumps in and out of the truck without issue. At first I worked at getting him to put his front feet up so I could boost him and after that I started putting a peanut butter cracker in the back seat opposite of the door he was getting in.....He popped right in and now it is just habit. Ruger has been coming to work with me everyday since I got him at 6 weeks so the fact that he is in the truck everyday makes a difference.

Mac is pretty much like the rest, he'll get his front-end in then I have to do the rest of the work with the backside.

Jax is not fond of car rides and I always had problems getting him in. We tried treats (which didn't work) and then would resort to lifting him. One day I got the bright idea to take he and Parker in the car together. Parker loves car rides and hops in without a problem. Jax watched and then followed his big brother in without a thought. He still doesn't like the ride but having Parker show him the ropes made our lives much easier. He now jumps in with or without Parker. If you have another dog you may try it, worked for me!

Ramp! It took a bit for her to learn to use it but a little competition with the other dogs for treats got the point across. Now she uses the ramp like a pro. Doing everything we can to protect those growing joints!

my boy is 6.5 month old, is 70+ and just started jumping in the car. At first he would just sit there and wait for me to put him in. Then I started just lifting his front in and letting him do the rest and he got the hang of it pretty quick after that.

Wow this makes me feel so much better about my 3 year old girl.
She has always been tough to get into a vehicle.
I can get her to go somewhat but then she stalls.
My wife lifts her rear end up and in, I just put my hand on her neck and push a little and she goes in for me.
I have always wondered if I was the only emberassed owner of a CC who wouldnt jump into the car or truck lol

Sophie is 4 months and 2 weeks and 65 pounds. We have a Silverado so it is kind of a high jump. I was good with lifting her in until she hit 50 pounds (was that last week or the week before?) and then I realized that I was assisting my soon to be service dog and not the other way around. Ramp it is then! Yessiree! And she LOVES running up and down the darn thing.
