In my opinion Dogos and Filas are the most athletic mastiff. And that is not biased, its from experience.

And some of you people must have worked with some crappy "filas". There is not a mastiff breed 100+ lbs that has the speed and agility combination of a proper Fila. I have seen Filas take sharp downhill corners on loose terrain at speeds that would put even a game AB on his ass.

Lets be honest, most people on here have no idea about actually working a dog or conditioning which is more important than genetics in regards to stamina.

Imo There is no breed that is 100% consistent now days. Too many so called breeders have screwed up many lines of ALL breeds. Whether it be abuse genetics etc. And I think everyone can agree on that.

Tosas are amazing dogs but in reality very little do man work like Schutzhund folks try and there is a breeder in the states that did.
And in all my years of doin weight pull I have never seen one doing it. Not saying there might be one

They are a very rare breed in North America... I would not be suprised if you had not seen one in these sports yet.

My English Mastiff can jump (more like lay down and slide) off my bed in around 10 seconds. If that doesn't prove the awesome athletic abilities of the EM, I don't know what does.

You apparantly dont know anything of a Fila if that aint putting the breed down.
I will still state I have trained some on Obedience. That is not putting the breed down when I say it would lay in the lap
That's just your arse getting hurt.
Put the suit away why do you think I am stupid. Will I test sure once they take me off medical care you fly my ass out.
It's sad you have to take the tread to threats ..

Chuck I think you are missing it deb stated SOME not all. I don't see that statement as a blanket statement or putting down your bred. Obviously the ones she came into contact with didn't have proper temps. IMO

Chuck ok you win I know nothing about dogs .. Your gonna sit here and keep your pathetic rant ... I have stated all breeds are watered down even mine and yours .. You called me out on bite work .. I told you when they release me to decoy again pay my ticket and ill come out and work your hounds... But yet your gonna keep going bc all are not saying Filas are the best... In reality all dogs are crap these days bc they do not do what there history created them to do ONLY bc we have ignorant people out in the world who are as follows
- stop breeding the dog for function
- stop breeding the dog for temperament
- stop using the dog for what it was designed for
- and the best of all PETA & USPCA

so now we have crappy dogs that we are trying to redu so we have them designed for something

And since I don't know dogs let's look at the GSD. AKC Show people have destroyed the breed. UKC & FCI want the breed back to originality so they are working on it. But fact still stands our own Military has moved always from GSDs bc they are so damaged.
Working breeders are putting Dutchie & large Malinois back into them to bring up the hocks and create the breed back for function
But I don't know my dogs ... WHATEVER!!!

Athletic definition: Physically strong, fit, and active:

Not sure if you missed my previous post or just ignored it, but ability to excercise for long periods of time has noting to do with the actual definition of athletic.

To define which is most athletic to me you must ask:
Which is most physically strong?
Which is most physically fit?
Which is most active?

Of course my Leo is the best of all of them, and he is a Corso. :)

Personally I find it comparing apples to oranges, with the exception of a few "rare breeds" most are completely different inside and out from what they were. To say what is the most athletic molosser is a matter of opinion, preferences, and goals.

But I bet Leo's balls are bigger. :p

Bet they are too lol

But he is mean as hell .. Takes on my Malinois all the time .. So funny to watch him growl at them then run like hell but they never catch bc he just scoots right under there legs .. Terror!
