What do you guys think the most athletic molosser breed is ? I think the Dogo Argentino is, but my friend says a Cane Corso .

Basically most post on this will be biased. In my unbiased opinion it would have to be cane Corso. And not because I own 1. LOL

I agree, most are going to be bias and it will depend on the individual dog as well. Some in a breed aren't agile at all and others are fantastic so it is a broad brush to paint one breed as the most agile.

Both of ur questions describe the Presa to a T. Have u seen pics of Presas in the Canary Islands?? They are all in some dirt yard, I swear grass must not exist over there, and it's off the coast of Africa which means its prob hot as hell too.

Nope I sure have not seen them. It could be a Presa I dont know. I just know playing and working aint the same deal. Just cause a dog can run through tunnels and over 2x6's dont always mean they could herd a head of cattle through a mountain. I know Fila's are very agile, fast, and can jump like crazy and turn on a dime at a full run. But I dont know enough about other breeds to say Filas are the best.

See on my answer I posted was bc when I went looking for a working style Mastiff. I looked at many, have worked many and found the Presa to be the best for ALL I do. I am not speaking about those piece of garbage low to the floor, to wide of chest, agitation incorrect, over produced wanna be bull mastiff, function not there DOGO CANARIOS (I mean this with the sweetest intentions)
I have tested many CCs and found them to be more fear based dogs then balanced.
Filas to me just don't have what I would look for in a balanced dog.
Neos, EMs, Bulls, BBDs GDs & Boerboels just don't have the temperament needed for most work.
Dogo Argentines, CAOs & COs
I like and most can do a decent amount of work but none for the type of work I do.

GSs, Bouviers, APBTs & ABDs are quite nice working breeds and hands down run circles around most.

Malinois & Dutchies well no comparison!

I can keep going but this just comes from working dogs for so many years

Just my 2 cents :)

I agree 100%!! Also wasn't talking about those fat Dogo canarios either. My only experience with any other breeds comes only with the limited time I've spent with my friends or neighbors dogs and those include a Neo, 2 DDB's, a CC, and a handful of lazy squatty bluenosed pits. Riddick runs those dogs to the ground and barely breathes hard afterwards.

What exactly do your dogs do that your considering work?

Chuck my dogs do the following or have done
- protection sport & PPD
- weight pull
- agility
- obedience
- (female Presa is trained in building searches)

In past
- Search n Rescue (Drago my first Presa has 2 certifications in it)

When I mean fear based in Protection most didn't have the presents, drive, and temperament for it. I am of course not saying all of them bc there is a few that I have seen that are wonderful working dogs. But even in the breed unless the kennel is blind will state the same as they do not have it for protection work

And this also comes with Dogo Canario and even some Presa Canario breeders who are completely blind on there own kennel
