We chauffeur Angus and Bella in the extended cab of our F150. We have a "sling" seat cover (Deluxe Seat Saver - Duluth Trading)
to keep him contained since the seats don't fold flat. It has a split zipper option if someone needs to ride in the back seat so would work with your car seat. We use a ramp to get him in and out that slides easily between the seats.

It's about time to trade in our Lexus sedan (leather is too soft for mastiff nails) and we've been looking at something tall enough for him to stand in - he doesn't like to lay down on the road - guess he's afraid he'll miss something. His head is usually draped over the back of the seat.

Anyone out there dealing with a car seat? That seems to be the big issue for me. And it won't go away for a few years.
My last mastiff rode in the front passenger seat while the kids had boosters in the back. We definitely had some whiplashed passerby's with a 220# mastiff in the front seat of a Honda accord
But I do have a husband now who insists on claiming a front seat. Lol

My SUV has 3 rows. I put the 3rd row down for the dogs and there are still seats in the middle you could have a car seat on. It's hard to tell in the picture but there is a lot of room for the dogs.

Tlov- that is what I would like but having no car payments for over 2 yrs with 2 reliable cars we're reluctant to get into one.
We have a full size crew cab. Seeing that it works for others with multiples I may try to work with it more. Not sure how Brett will feel about giving up his truck for my car. LOL I am the one home with the dogs and kid though. I hope all the guys at work don't laugh too hard at a small car parked next to all the trucks hahahaha

Shouldn't be too much of a problem for him, it will give him an excuse to get another truck ;)

Hyundai Sante Fe and Pet Loader steps!
Max gets in and out by going up the steps. I fold all the seats down and we ride off into the sunset together. Well, at least of to the vet for a nail clip, pet store and visits.

This looks awesome! Are the steps heavy?

I have a Toyota sienna (van) and it has a ton of space. I usually just fold down 2/3 of the 3rd row which gives enough space around town for my dane and swiss mountain dog as the second row has captain chairs. That is with 3 kids in car seats as well. When we visit the parents (10hr drive) I take out one of the middle captain chairs to allow more space for all our luggage, 2 dogs over 100lbs, 3 kids and 2 adults. It is so funny watching peoples reactions at rest stops.

The steps are about 25 pounds. Very sturdy and have a handle. If you do it right, you can hold the handle and throw the steps out, pop the safety hinge and he can be down in a minute. Folding them is a little trickier and Max can be very impatient! The steps are carpet so there's no slip. It took a few treats and some coaxing, but he went up and down without issue.
Petloader website shows it all. They are great.
My son is the general manager for a hyundai store...he wants to package the Sante Fe and the steps and sell as the Mastiff Mobile.
It also has third row seat, but he will not be an entire seat away from mama and gets stuck climing over. I just eliminate the hassel, but there is enough room for him in the very back and he can stand all the way up.

Ha! Hubs was shocked when I mentioned a minivan. He couldn't believe I would actually consider it when I absolutely hands down with no discussion refused for the kids. The love I have for my dogs continues to shock him even after 10 yrs

Well kids are one thing you don't want to look like a soccer mom driving your kids around in a minivan and blowing all your self respect and lowering your children's self esteem being seen in a minivan, but mastiff is like a honey badger he just don't give a shit! They just look at you like "go ahead say something, make my day" no one is going to laugh at you unloading a couple of mastiffs from a minivan, they will be more intent and impressed by the dogs than the car.

Well we don't have any children. Just the two dogs who are both at 65lbs now. I drive a two door minicooper and my back seats are always folded down with a large costco dog bed in the back for the dogs to lay on.

The first pic below is from when Diesel was quite a bit smaller and the second pic is more recent. The dogs fit surprisingly well in the back of the car.

Don't be fooled by the second photo. They actually can both fit lying down and often do but they were excited that day as we were on our way to the beach so they were both sitting up and alert. :)

DDSK - The funny thing is I think Cerberus was the most excited! The beach is his fave. He misses so cal living. But me and Diesel had plenty of excitement between the two of us also. :p

I drive a retired Crown Vic K9 Unit. Removed the cage and has a vinyl back seat back there. And if that won't be big enough I got plenty of room in my Escalade

Thanks everyone for the input! The seats folded up in the truck work perfectly. And I think if the smaller section of the seat was down for the car seat they would still fit well. I need to find a ramp for mama to climb in with. Question is how to help flatten out the floor which is where she prefers to lay?

Well here's an update I did not see coming;) DD's car was totaled by an ass who blew a stop sign:/ we could not find a car we felt was safe for her to drive(in her budget) so decided to give her the Saturn. I have wanted another hatchback forever so we found one I liked. Even though it looks small on the outside, both big dogs fit in perfectly! Of course the little is up front with me:)

Kinda like a clown car! Lol
Edit to add: the car seat fits perfectly with the dogs in it also.
