I am wondering what everyone drives. My Saturn Aura with a car seat is not making the cut with the added mastiff. I raised 2 kids to adulthood without ever driving a minivan(cramped my style). Lol and with only a singleton now I did not need a minivan. Problem is with an aging mastiff a minivan may be my only option. I have applied to foster mastiffs in the future so need to keep that in mind also. Please share what has/has not worked for all of you. Thanks!
Pictures with pups in the vehicle are a plus

I have a crew cab pick up truck, my kids are all grown now so the girls have the back all for themselves.

Good thread! We're also reaching a point where it will be time to retire the Honda Accord, and we're thinking about an SUV, something like a Tucson, in part to give Tali and Sid more space, especially on longer trips like the 2.5 hour jaunt to the lake. Looking forward to seeing what works for others here!

I had an Excursion with my previous dogs (EM and BM). We used a ramp to get them in and out.
Now I have a Subaru Impreza and it's very easy to get my boy in the back seat. Mind you it's just him and I in the car 99% of the time.

I have amp research automatic running boards on my truck, they fold up when doors are closed and drop down when door is opened. My CC Zoey has a weakened rear due to Addison's disease and she is able to step right in.

Hyundai Sante Fe and Pet Loader steps!
Max gets in and out by going up the steps. I fold all the seats down and we ride off into the sunset together. Well, at least of to the vet for a nail clip, pet store and visits.

Denna gets the back seat of our F350 crew cab... seats fold to provide a flat platform, then we put a foam pad with non-slip under it for her to sit on. She's very comfy there.

Around town, I often take my Subaru Outback instead (easier to park!)... seats down flat so she has the whole back end of the car. She fits just fine - and there's room for one or two more pups in there... but she's not as comfortable due to the low ceiling height. She's also turned on the dome light a few times... and killed the battery once when I failed to see it was on, too. ;)

Anyone out there dealing with a car seat? That seems to be the big issue for me. And it won't go away for a few years.
My last mastiff rode in the front passenger seat while the kids had boosters in the back. We definitely had some whiplashed passerby's with a 220# mastiff in the front seat of a Honda accord
But I do have a husband now who insists on claiming a front seat. Lol

I have a Subaru Impreza that comfortably fits my Dane and Doberman with the seats down. However, thinking about getting a Honda Element or Mazda 5 so I can have crates in the car.

We have a Ford Explorer with automatic running boards, he gets the whole back area and can get in through the back door. We also have an F150 with the crew cab so he gets the whole back seat area and uses the running boards to get in as well.

I have a Chevy Equinox. Am lifting the girls in right now but looking into a ramp or steps. It is plenty of space for them and the back seats lay down for more space if needed.

I gave in and got a minivan. It is much easier to transport both dogs now.

Ha! Hubs was shocked when I mentioned a minivan. He couldn't believe I would actually consider it when I absolutely hands down with no discussion refused for the kids. The love I have for my dogs continues to shock him even after 10 yrs
