lol! And here I am ordering mantis egg cases for my garden!
My ownly true phobia is heights. Even looking at pictures can jack me up. Sweaty palms, pain in the feet...
Needles are a close second.
Praying Mantises freak me the F out. I've only seen one, met it in the stairwell while on vacation in Hawaii. The kids and I were gecko hunting and I saw it... I started creeping up on it from behind, then it slowly reared up, and turned its head to look at me... I'm sorry, any bug that can turn its head to look at me, no.. no, no, no.
I don't like bugs or spiders in general, but I know there is something I can smash the ever living $hit out of them with nearby, so I'm not too worried.

I don't know about where you live AK, but where I live it is against the law to kill a praying mantis
I'm not sure but 3.5 inches is small, the ones I've seen were 8-10 inches.
They are great to have around but they will bite if you pick them up wrong...
So AK...I guess you couldn't do this job, huh...

Just kidding AK,old urban legend...but in case you need fodder for your dreams:
The praying mantis seems to charm even those who don't care for bugs. With large, raptorial front legs folded as if in prayer and a head that swivels to watch passersby, the praying mantis appears almost human :razzberry:
Aww, come on. It's a beautiful 55 mile view into the horizon at the top.
ridiculous....
I love a Praying Mantis, my good luck charm.
