I concur. Cane Corso's increasing popularity might not be a good thing, especially when last time I checked
the breed went up 10 places to #50 in most popular, I think in just one year. And AKC also reports that bigger breeds are here to stay, as large dogs dominate most popular list. IMO, the CC is not a dog for just anyone, but because of their striking appearance people are wanting to own them, not always for the right reasons. In my area alone, I've seen multiple ads on craigslist (!!!) for CC needing to be rehomed due to the fact that their owners can not control them out in public and have no time for them, wtf?!? I almost called up one of them, since they are only a few streets away from where I live, but decided not to, since realistically I am not in a position to take on another one of them at this time (as much as I would love to, I still am working with Luther in his rehabilitation process). Once he is more stable, and I know I can trust him, I will get another one of them for sure and it will also be a rescue. These days I am a staunch advocate of responsible ownership and proper training, and I applaud people who rescue, and those who adopt rescues. Your family did a great thing by adopting your first CC. But, honestly it is not easy to clean up the mess of others, it's a LOT of hard work and takes time and patience, specially when you get a difficult case. I know this from first hand experience.
BTW, I LOVE the new pics, that cat of yours is something else, haha, three big dogs and she's totally cool and looks like she thinks she's one of them in that cage. Amazing!
