Hi Guys & Gals, Happy Sunday..... It's become quite noticeable that Midas front paws turn out, like a Cane Corso from pics I have seen???? I was wondering maybe the boys could be part something else??? No papers No it does not matter to me but it is making me concerned....
But I also read that this could be a problem down the road... Is this a deformity or can it effect his ankles etc????? Maximus has perfect alignment.... His bro from same litter..... Thanks Tracy

its a growth problem, they're over a year IIRR? if it doesn't self correct fairly quickly you're going to need a specialist and potentially major surgery if it doesn't stop.

A little bit of turn outs not a big deal. Apollo's left foot turned out for several months, but it wasn't a severe turn out (you had to know to look for it) it never affected his gait and its now self correcting.

But if its affecting his gait its pobly not a "little" turn out and that means potential growth problems.

It's not stopping, if my 22 yr old daughter finally noticed it, she barely notices me as she runs to work & college.... Me I"m anal about the boys & have been keeping an eye on their alignment, gait etc... But I'm in a rock & a hard place here.... There so called Dad is a jerk...... He plans on breeding them & I have no control.... You know I am moving soon...... Oh cheese & rice, well he has to know & Midas has to get xrays ASAP....... SOB I do not want to talk to this man.... The shit I will do for these two knuckleheads......

Oh exercise isn't a short walk around block..... It's soccer & frisbee, boyz move, you wouldn't think a mastiff could be that fast but they are damn fast once at a full run.......

Go ahead and post a video

Depending on how severe it is, and where the incorrect growth is happening sometimes diet changes or a cast or brace can force the body to correct it itself.

Midas he loves frisbee, it's the only thing he will move for..... Max will chase a leaf, he's my runner....

I vaugely recall someone else with the a dog with the same problem having to cut protein and calcium? I think they fed raw too.....

Is it possible its a diet problem? In theory yes, but if you're feeding the right percentages of everything then its not likely. Theres some thought that theres a genetic component, but I'm not sure they know for sure.

no i lied Midas will like hell & charge fence if small kids or small dogs are running by, like a bull hitting the fence.... Been working on it, something new he started, don't know if it's the protective part kicking in or he has issue......
