Those do look a lot like pics of Kryten from the front.

One thing you can check is to see if he will allow you to manipulate his entire leg. If you find a joint that he doesn't want you to move, you can tell the vet where you think the problem is. If it is ED chances are that he will resist if you try and push his foreleg toward his chest.

Those pictures made me feel good. Normally when owners say they think there is an issue there dogs legs are already sideways. I would get him looked at and start the Ester C. I have heard of breeders using it to tighten up the "cat paw" feet of their dogs, but I dont know how that works at all.

I only see a slight turn out but cannot really tell from the pictures. Vet check for peace of mind with your normal vet will make you feel better for sure.

Yeah that's what makes me worried about his elbows. I hope in Midas' case it is just a mineral or vitamin deficiency but those photos look too similar for my comfort.

I think it's genetic, max is fine & they both eat exactly the same food & same amount...... But of course it will be my fault, everything is always my fault... I just snorted when i laughed..... Seriously this is scaring me & i am taking him to vet tomorrow...... Then i will tell mr know it all..... Really is making me sick just the thought of talking to him.... But my boyz always come before me, always have always will...... Ugh

What did you have to do for kryten?????

He will be having reconstructive surgery. I am just thankful that I have had insurance on him since he was 12 weeks old, otherwise I don't know what I would be doing because his surgeries won't be cheap. I know it can be managed conservatively by weight and activity control along with meds and supplements since that is what I'm doing until he has his first surgery.

But most Vets do not understand big hell HUGE breeds, I want to be informed & know
what to ask.... She is a good Vet listens to me & actually thanked me for some info
I told her about EM's.....

I hope nothing is seriously wrong with him.

Maybe this would be a reason for your ex to let you have him?

One can only hope ddbsr4me one can only hope... But if Midas comes so does Max..
They are a package deal, they adore each other... Midas is X's fav....
I have tears in my eyes looking at him & praying he is fine.... My X is heartless
& he is all about money..... Did the research on cost of surgery WOW WOW WOW...
But I would find a way....... Kind of puts a wrench in him breeding them... Oh he
will do it anyways.... I just want Midas to be ok or get the medical he needs....

I think Kryten's portion of the insurance is $45CDN, both dogs cost $65 each month. I use Trupanion which is one of the more expensive premiums but I they cover 90% of cost after the deductible has been paid. If they are diagnosed prior to coverage the condition would be considered pre existing and therefore not covered. He actually has problems with bone development and the loose bone chips are what is causing his pain. The only way to fix that problem is surgery and that is the path I want to travel so I haven't checked too far into braces but the Orthodogs group I've joined doesn't seem to think highly of them. His exercise has been pulled back. He is still allowed to be a puppy only I have to try harder to prevent jumping. He isn't allowed to go on any off leash walks and on leash must be shorter than he was used to. The toughest part is preventing heavy rough housing with Jiggers. He is getting a joint supplement that consists of glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM. His pain meds are Triamadol and Metacam.
These are a couple of threads that I have started concerning Kryten's ED diagnosis Kryten has Elbow Dysplasia

You'd need to get the insuranceon them NOW before they're diagnosed and theres usually a waiting period during which they can't be diagnosed either, fyi.

Great minds think a like..... I looked to see how much insurance is, depends on deductible but not bad....
The waiting period for the one I looked at was 14 days...... Do I tell the X & maybe he gets insur or
he tells me to mind my own biz & Midas is just a stud for as long as his legs hold out???? My gut is telling
me whatever I do, don't see a good outcome.... Never is with him.... But I can get supplements, Ester C
& OMG he is going to be so sad no more frizbee, only thing he likes..... & I still have to exercise Max my
soccer boy..... Does it ever get easy, no Tracy life is one big WTF...... They do everything together......
& how do I get them not to rough house..... Midas actually hurt Max today, Max was limping for a while.....

smokeycat thank you great info, I feel better being informed..... I'm just going
to have to bite the bullet (rather bite the X LOL) & tell him what is going on....
I am out of here very soon, I don't have any options.... Can't steal them, he
won't sell them to me & he def won't let me near them when I leave... Gate
chained & padlocked & guarantee won't return text or cellie calls..... This
really sucks.......
