Thanks so much for all of your kind comments.
I took her to the vet yesterday she's at 49.7 lbs. The vet said this is small for her age 4 1/2 months, but I think she looks about right. I can see her last rib and she isn't overeating. She has two cups at 6:30AM and another two cups at 5:30PM. I moved her feedings from 3 times to 2 times a day whe she turned 4 months. She's eating Earthborn Holistic Coastal Catch. There are times when she'll leave some in the bowl (If I'm doing something wrong... chime in). The last thing I want is an overweight puppy.
Potty training is going a little better. I crate her for an hour after every meal, she just takes a nap. This has been helping to cut down on accidents and I'm terrified of bloat. It's been hard for her with Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'm a teacher and have had a good chunk of time off for both holidays. All of my time off was spent at my parents’ house, so there has been a little inconsistency with where we are staying; however, they do a nice job of enforcing the rules I have for Piper.
She is still mouthing. She never bites but I don't like that she does this. She was with the breeder and littermates until 11 weeks; I thought that would help with this? She is also jumping on people when they are on the floor. She can be rough when someone is sitting at her level. Any suggestions on breaking this? I just walk away when she gets overexcited.
Other than the puppy issues (mouthing, potty training, jumping) she has been everything I wanted in a dog. I am so very happy with her and already feel closely bonded.
I am so thankful for this site. I have learned so much from reading the threads. Thanks all for your encouragement and wisdom!
