I named a cat Pnyrmal (pronounced Nermal.... I liked the silent "p" in words and I threw a "Y" in there for zest!)

My first dog that was MY dog was an Aussie Shepherd I got at 16 and named her Pi R2 cause she had a what looked like a perfect spot on her bum. And my old cat I named Quagmire... called her Quag. I still like that name.

In my opinion you can't get weirder than pedigree names, mine are:
Milvosis Silver Rainbow (Billie)
Lanebern's Munchkin (Jimmy)
Princess Veronica at Cadermist (Ronnie).

I had a Whippet named Whippy when I was a kid, I also had a hamster named Hamy, I wasn't that creative :)

We had a stray black long hair cat adopt us once, my daughter's friend said the name Loretta would be good, as in the Beatles' song lryics "get back home Loretta". Then we saw the cat outside in the daylight, walking away from us, & renamed him Larry. :) Evidently the tradition of stupid people names stuck with my youngest daughter... her current cats are Maynard (male) & Chuck (female). But it seems like it's just a cat thing, as she just adopted a dog from the Humane Society who has massive ears. His name is Gotham, as in Batman.
