Question for the Americans: WTF is with Donald Trump?

At first I was amused by the sheer ridiculousness of trump. Now I am deeply embarrassed that he actually has support. Yup it's pretty humiliating when I think of our world image. On the bright side it is amazing comedy fodder.

Have you been watching Saturday Night Live? They must be having a field day with this one! LOL

WTF is RIGHT!!!

It's all entertainment-driven if you ask me...
People love to watch the train wreck, so they keep voting him in, in order to be able to keep watching.

Who knows what questions they actually ask on those polls... given the field of GOP candidates... which would you choose???

We need to find a way to get GOOD people to run for office. Unfortunately, with all the money involved, you have to be rich first... which means, you're probably already an arrogant power-hungry individual ready to bulldoze the rules to get what you want... not exactly presidential material, but, hey, that's why we have THREE branches of gov't, right? To provide checks and balances?

Or... just multiple means of road-blocks.

If Trump were voted in as president (God Help Us) - he'd get a big slap in the face as to how little power the president actually has to get things done without the support of Congress.

Well lucky for us I think Clinton has shot herself in the foot with her server and Benghazi so I'm pretty sure she can't get elected.

Hopefully, the same chaos as Bill. I owe that man a BJ, a cigar and I'll pay my own dry cleaning.

Bahahahahahahahahah!!! I'm all in for that kind of chaos, too!

However, I'm "feelin' the Bern" At the very least, he's calling out the entire system, both parties, and bringing some real discussion and accountability re the shrinking middle class and the "welfare state" that big business is enjoying. I don't care what party brings it about, but I'm all for strengthening the power of the people and decreasing that of corporations. He's the only one really bringing home that message.

The race for the presidency has been turned into a circus. People all over the world must be thinking "what idiots!" I'm not one to discuss politics but what our country needs is someone who can balance military, foreign policy, economics and manage to treat citizens with respect. Trump is an entertainer. Not a president. (not trying to start an argument either!)

I am embarrassed for this country.

He has my vote at the moment. I think the liberal, anti-American, let's us soothe you after you threaten to kill us, bullshit is much more embarrassing than Trump.

I'm not saying he is the ideal candidate but there is no such thing. He is one hell of a business man and unapologetically American and I like that. He does support our Military ....

There are many pros. There are cons, too but look at the other options.

Every race for Presidency is turned into a circus not just this one. The difference is that he is the only one to date that has been able to stand up there and say whatever he believed.

Unlike the rest, he has his own "funding" and doesn't have to worry about which "group" he pisses off for fear of losing funding.

Too much can change at this point since we are more than a year away but if today was voting day..he would be my choice.

Sorta off topic but I was in France during the whole "recount" in 2000. Boy did I get razzed! Lol

I thought Bill was a Great Pres. Behind every Great Man is the woman that got him there. Thats what my wife tells me anyways.

I'd vote Trump, just to spite her =P

Hadn't he gone bankrupt twice? I suppose if you start off with tons of family money and a nice little safety net then you can afford to screw up multiple times until you get it right since you don't have to worry about silly things like survival. *shrugs* I don't really have faith in his business skills or his common sense much less his integrity or image.

That said - I do agree that it often is a circus :) just maybe a bit more of one than usual this go around.

Which is why it is so great that we live in the Land of Free and are entitled to our own opinions. :) We can't all be like one another what a boring place that would be. I was only speaking for me. At this point, he has my vote.

Not a lot of places in the world that allow us to openly criticize our political candidates and sitting leaders.
So what ever happens I say God Bless America!

I am so distracted by Trump's immaturity and complete lack of professional decorum (bullying, name calling, fight picking), I have no idea where he stands on the issues. The fact that he thinks his actions are appropriate tells me that he does not have the skills needed for ANY position that involves working with people.

Bullying has been a huge topic in America these last few years and everyone says they are against it. As I watch this man name call and pick on people and I see people cheering him on, I wonder where these supporters stand on the topic of bullying. If they are against bullying, then I would think they are not a Trump supporter. If they are a supporter, then I would like one of them to explain to me how they reconcile the two.

These are my thoughts as well. In addition to what CeeCee has said above, his documented past and present misogynistic comments are things I just can't get past. Speaking the truth is fine, but there's a right way and a wrong way to do it. I think he totally lacks diplomacy and his arrogance is off-putting. Confidence I can admire. Arrogance, not so much. The thought of our country with Trump as our president embarrasses and frightens me.

Personally, I don't consider it bullying. People are cheering him because he his stating an opinion unlike any presidential candidate ever has (because he can because I doesn't need any "groups" to support him for funding) and because he makes a lot of valid points. He sees some of the real issues and says so. There have been some moments that I was a bit put off by some of his "handling" things and I wonder if he can keep himself in there with some of it but mostly it throws people so much because we are living in such a ridiculously politically correct that when someone truly has an opinion and speaks it we find it shocking.

This same politically correct society has a lot of problems and needs a lot of changes and I believe at this point he is the only candidate that can possibly make it happen.

I don't think he is perfect nor do I always agree with how he handles things, however, I do love that he is unapologetically American, supports out military completely and has a handle on our biggest issues.

I, too, say God bless America and I would love nothing more to get our country back.

Since I am a supporter I will reconcile the two for you. Again, speaking the truth is not bullying in my opinion, however, bullying is such a huge topic that goes beyond being against bullying. Bullying has been around forever and has become so much more serious with the Internet so we are seeing it more. Irresponsible, self absorbed bad people raise irresponsible self absorbed kids. Our society has become that doesn't foster decency, kindness, responsibility, personal accountability and this is the society that we created. We should teach our children to stand up for themselves, we should hold people accountable when they are actually bullying someone instead of not saying shit when we have a mouthful for fear of offending someone or being labeled one of the many things that people can come up with to call us after they pick apart every word you say. Speak the truth, stand up for yourself, be kind when you can, own your own mistakes ...it effects everything.

We have become a society that labels anyone who doesn't agree with us as a bully or racist or whatever makes them look bad.

It's time for a change. For me, at this point, Trump can be that change.
