Bleh, I'm lucky enough that if I go out in the backyard there's essentially no light pollution to deal with. There's some city glow on the horizon, but thats it.

Odd enough that's how my parents home is and they live in the "city" I actually saw the last shower from there.

I can go in the backyard where I'm at but the light is quite strong because of the bulb they use. Next time I move into the country I will be sure NO LIGHTS I don't understand the concept of moving of a less populated just have lights. Blocking the beautiful night sky.

Me either. A couple folks on the street have lights on their flags, but they are aimed well, and not "flood" lights, so its ok. There IS a house, down the road, that has a very bright light on all night every night in their back yard, but thanks to the way the houses, trees, and fences are set up we don't actually get much light from it here.

See that crap drives me nuts, I had a neighbor like that when I lived with my parents. Unfortunately my bedroom was in their path. Motion detection lights are better if they are worried about "bumps in the night" but don't have that crap flashing all night long ruining someone else's view. Sorry that stuff drives me batty.

Changsha Notes, I looked at your shots again and I love how you use the depth of field. The flower and the bridge is an awesome shot and the flower itself. Are you a professional photog?

Thank you.

I'm not a professional but I shoot something everyday. I'm new to photography but it's become my main hobby.

Ruth, your flower shot is beautiful but it's a little dark. I hope you don't mind but I brightened it up a little.

The lighting was less than steller *shrug* but they're fairly muted flowers too, not overly bright, the original is the color I see when I look at them.

Gorgeous!!!! I wish I could take beautiful shots like that. I have the camera, just not the "eye" I guess ;)

Practice lol, take the picture, look at it, and your settings, re-take the picture with different settings, look at it, adjust the settings, retake the picture....
