New cat owner

Never did I ever think I would own a cat, yet I adopted a kitten this past weekend. He along with two sisters and one brother were brought to animal control because the owner didn't want them. Nor did the owner care because they were covered in fleas. Since my friend lost my other one I felt a nagging sensation to own a cat to replace the cool guy I LOVED. Searched petfinder and found this little guy.

He gave both me and Thor a few nasty scratches the first day, hissing, and biting just a little monster. Poor Thor was so confused he wanted to play with the kitty but it was met with hissing and claws. The first night Thor layed down by the crate I keep the little guy in. Now five days later the kitty is getting better with each passing day. He's able to be around Thor without running away, he hisses sometimes if Thor gets too close or gets to rough ( wants to play). Thor is so good and patient too he just takes it, even with me telling him not to chase the little guy when he runs. Its an adjustment for both of them and they are taking it so well. I'm happy.

No clue what to name him.
Working names I have are:

Silvio
Macota
Giano
Bernini
Giambi
Vatano

Hehe, a little black monster. Congrats!
I've always had a cat, and probably always will.

Like AKBull, I have always had a cat and probably always will. Poor Lucky is still still recovering from the addition of Ren and Stonewall. The bird.... well she hates everyone equally LOL. Enjoy your baby VERY cute!!

He's very cute! We have 2 cats at the moment but we won't have any more once these ones are gone. I hate dealing with cat litter.

Congrats on the new addition. It's funny how Thor's paw is almost as big as the kitten. They'll get used to each other & become fast friends. Thor will learn his place around the Cat (with a capitol C), ruler of the world. :)

What a cutie!! We have 3 cats in addition to the 6 dogs & 2 parrots. Have fun with the little bundle of hiss & vinegar! Lol!

Judging by the stories and the pictures I would call him Lil Evil lol. I have had many cats in my life but currently don't have any. I always liked cats because when they get going on something you can sit there and watch them for hours. Also if you don't have a laser pointer yet, go buy one, TOTALLY worth it.

Thanks all for the comments, I don't know why but I always liked solid black cats for some reason, lol.

Actually I was dreading the whole litter box thing but its not that bad. Of course if I had more than one cat like some of you I might change my tune, lol. He is a little black monster, he "bats" you with his paws and runs off. Little snot.

Marrowshard, I like the name Silvio too, he's been here about a week can't keep saying "kitty kitty" :D So I think I might go with it.

We've always had two names for our cats "goddamnitnowwhatsshescratching" and "findoutwhatshesdoingandstopher"although Silvio is pretty cool.

LOL Bently! I think I said that a few times he's mostly nosey ( just like Thor)

The first few days I had to remind Thor not to chase Silvio not hurt but was curious. Up until now he's been the only animal in the house besides Khan. A full week later Thor understands although he still tries to play with the Silvio. Silvio has also come out of his shell he's no longer running and hiding from Thor now he wants to be everywhere we are. He starts meowing if he can't find us.

Silvio is also a little potty machine I clean the litter box every day and I'm still amazed how much this guy puts out.

Lol!! @ Bentley

My younger cat's name is Trouble. She earned it. I'd had her two hours and had to rescue her from the fish tank. Ok not quite, but she was trying really hard to climb in.....

Silvio....cute, you can call her Silly for short. She's got wild eyes, that little kitty. Grew up on a farm in Saskatchewan, we always had at least 20 cats. All outside tho so the whole litter box thing is foreign to me.

HA Kelly he is Silly, though, little spazz. You sound like my friend she has about the same amount of cats outside not including the 6 in the house. :D Couldn't imagine cleaning that many litter boxes.
