I think something is wrong

I am not trying to make excuses but lately I have been finding it harder and harder to form coherent sentences or carry on relevant conversations with people. I can't find the words I want to use half the time so I have to pause and think or Google things I think are close to it. I lose my temper easily and want to do serious damage to some people for the slightest things. I constantly have to use spell check and I never had to before. I have or had an above average intelligence but don't feel like it anymore. Don't know if it's AD, MCI or just stagnation from lack of stimulus. @50 I didn't think it would be an issue my mom have MCI as did my grandmother. Well that's that I guess it's time to see a doctor.

It is good that you can recognize it. Get to the Dr ASAP. No F'ing around.

Hope it's nothing serious, Mike. I've had similar feelings in the past, turned out my thyroid wasn't up to par. Got some meds and a few weeks later I was back to myself.

Nahh, I think its a natural part of aging. I find at 46 I will be typing a sentence and I try to use words I've known forever but can't remember how to spell the damn things so I substitute or I loose my train of thought, have issues remembering, etc. I thought it was just me but it is also my hubby as well he is 6 months older. Quite honestly I think it is a lack of stimulus as you stated. They say when you are challenged, the brain becomes lazy. I work mostly with seniors in the above 65 age group and I have to admit, I definately do not feel challenged at work in the least. I can feel my iq points dropping!

Well I had a pretty serious case of bacterial meningitis years back because I was stubborn and would not get an infected tooth fixed. I woke up in the hospital with assisted breathing, tubes and wires attached to me all over and a catheter (shudder). They pulled the tooth wile I was out and pumped me full of antibiotics. After that I had memory issues for about a year. I wonder if there were/are long term effects.

But this thing that is happening now I have been trying to deny for about a month until my ex confronted me about it last weekend. She tole me she saw me hesitating in conversations and that I didn't seem as sharp as I usually was. So I had to take stock and I know she is right no matter how much I don't want to admint it.

Could be just getting fucked as I am ghetting old or something else. I will see a Dr. next week after our server crisis is over.

Thanks for the supportive comments. It helps.

Take it easy Mike, my mum complains about a milder version of what you've described all the time (she's 53 now). You take yo a** to the Doc ASAP and get better. We're here for you :)

Edit: Boone licked my keyboard while I was typing, so he's sending his love as well! :)

Nothing sucks more than knowing something is wrong, but not quite being able to put a finger on it. That's exactly how I felt the time they took to figure out I had MS(most people have to wait years to figure out that's what it is). I knew something was wrong, but no one could quite figure it out.
I hope they can tell you what it is Mike and I hope it is easily treatable and you can get back to your normal self asap.

Thanks all. It seems like the same way I felt when I had the infection. Buy I have none of the other symptoms, like fever, headache and nausea.

Like just now I misspelled 4 words in that sentence. <---and 2 there. Might be getting worse.
Thank you spell check.

Yep this exactly. We're pretty positive I have MS as well but it's early enough on that the signs are subtle. I knew something was wrong and kept pushing until someone helped me.

thats scary... hopefully something that you can treat quickly, like a thyroid issue, chemical imbalance or dietary imbalance. good luck at the doctor!! just as a side note, try adding coconut oil into your diet any way you can. it really helps brain health, and studies have been done about it in relation to Alzheimers. i remember when my now toddler was a teeny baby and i was just starting out with making his formula from scratch, i wanted to leave out the CO because it was making his bottles clog from the clumps. the nutritionist was ADAMANT that his little brain needed it. i looked into why it was so important, and its pretty amazing stuff. needless to say, i didnt stop adding it after i read up. and hes a baby genius now ;) just thought that might help in some small way. my step dad (in his 70s now) has started using it too because hes having "old man" brain.

Do you have any other symptoms? Even small things that you may not think are relevant?

So far you've mentioned memory loss(not large, just misspellings and forgetfulness) and sudden feelings of anger. Anything else?

Thirst, tired. I keep hitting the snooze every morning then getting up all pissed off because now I have to rush (did you say boobs?). The man drive is wayyyy up like in teenager mode. Pains in the face, head and hands. Put on 10 lbs in 2 weeks (pissed off again). Oh HUNGRY and want salt all the time.

Sounds like blood sugar to me, but I am NO Dr!
