Benadryl is genius I will be giving him a dose tonight before bed. He is Hank through and through. Stitches just aren't slowing him down at all. He's pissed that he can't play with the cat right now but beyond that and some, "Nein, Dempsey, don't scratch that" it's been a pretty good day. I still feel bad. I'm with you Amanda F I felt like the worst mom ever yesterday.

How much does he weigh depends on how much to give. My Outlaw is 7mos old weighing 85 lbs. now but when his ears were done we gave him 1.5 pills. About 37.5 mg... and a good rule of thumb I used is dosing him right before bed and immediately once he woke up. He weighed 25 lbs when he got cropped. Now I have to give him a human dose! Lol

I'm going to try one he's big but he's still on pain meds as well and I don't want to wipe him out too bad. Or maybe I do... He's been a handful since the cropping my son told me today, now that he has devil horns he's acting the part. Which seems to be the case as he's eaten a sweater and a book in the last four hours. Thankfully dad will be home soon mom needs a shower and a drink. Babies are a young woman's game and he is like a toddler on crack.

Seriously!! Lol I would def wait then if he is on pain meds... My vet didn't send us home with any but they kept him overnight for one night... I dosed Outlaw 3 times in 24 hours and it worked like a charm! My breeder suggested this and thank GOD she did! Lol good luck with the Hankster! ;)

Just thought I would throw an update out. Hank is doing awesome. Five days after surgery the ears look better than I ever imagined they would. Swelling is down and he looks to be healing well. He's still not a fan of us cleaning and putting antibiotics on them but how can you blame him. They're already standing up nicely. I really am glad we had it done even after I cried and told my husband he mutilated my baby.

Haha Kate you sound just like me! I am so glad we went through with it. Hope he continues to heal up nicely and those ears keep on standing!!

After a week, Hank got the tape off of his ears. We think they look gorgeous!

They look fantastic! He is adorable now and I'm sure he will be very handsome when he grows up. :)

Your puppy is adorable, and I am glad everything went well. Is he a bull mastiff or an English?

Hank is back to his normal self. He got his stitches removed today and everything looks great! Here is one last comparison pic:

So cute. When I saw this I just had to show you these 2 pictures. They are not mine but are cute and terrifying at the same time.
