I get sooo bored at work plucking the numbers into my computer that my brain tells me to eat even when I'm not hungry. So when at work I am trying to snack on healthy things like vegetables.

I went grocery shopping last night. I got quite a bit of veggies like peppers, cucumber, broccoli, cauliflower, red onion, sweet potatoe, raw spinach. Then from the garden I got carrots, yellow beans, red beats, romaine lettuce.

For fruit I got granny smith apples, blue berries, tomatoes, and frozen strawberries, lemons.

Meat sources: I have wild meat at home so I don't buy beef but I bought boneless and skinless chicken breast, shrimp and spiced chicken breast sandwich meat. We are also going fishing to stock up on fish lol.

My boyfriend however was ruining my health cart with ichiban noodles, kraft dinner, chips, monster drinks, chocolate truffle coffee creamer, waffles and ice cream.

All your food sounds great to me.

Have you ever tried quiona? It is my favorite food. I replace pasta and rice with it. It is a super food, super good for you carb with protein in it.

I have and it is great as a salad! I tried cooking it once but I failed HARD lol it was still a little uncooked and crunchy.

I am going to have to try again. Any tips for cooking it?

Another little downfall of mine is Soups. Yes soup isn't horrible for you but I LOVE and tend to eat the Cream based ones... Cream broccoli, Cream of mushroom and Creamy rustic tomatoe mmmmmm. I am trying to start eating more of the broth based soups while watching the sodium levels.

I do a 1 cup quiona and 3 cups of water, put a lid on it and let it go for 20 minutes. It should "pop" and no longer be round granules. I don't know how to explain it! maybe I can find a picture.

I didn't even know it pops lol. I thought it just swelled like rice. No wonder mine was gross.

Since doing this diet I've learned I don't hate as many veggies as I thought LOL! Plus I'm supporting my local farmers too. :)

Just brought some broccoli and tomatoes me being on my low budget and all. Found some discounted meat so score! I'm eating a nice homeade "chili" Yum.....

I wanted to try quiona but was scared I heard it was difficult to cook. I might try some later on when I progress further.

Well Winter unfortunately is coming...(I know, I know. Watch your mouth!) I am just starting to get prepared for working out and getting in shape. I myself find this easiest to do in the winter because quite frankly there is nothing to really do in the winter other than shop! <---- That is bad on my wallet. Than in the summer I do a lot of Soft Ball, Wakeboarding, Tubing and swimming, walking and dirtbiking. Fall I hunt so there is A LOT of walking.

This winter I was thinking I would strength train/weight lift and obviously some cardio thrown in. I am going to be focusing on my diet as well. I would not say I am an unhealthy eater but I can definitely be a little stricter on myself. I am also thinking that I am going to hire a trainer as I think it will help me learn and do things properly. It also will get me up and to the gym because there is some one there expecting me.

I am not really focusing on the scale so much as what my body actually looks like and how I fit my clothes.

Age: 23
Gender: Female
Work out plan: Strength train/Cardio & Diet(Healthier eating)
Days working out: 6 on and 1 off

Any tips and or suggestions?
Yea, sorta. I have a PhD in physiology and am certified by the NSCA, ACSM and a couple other organisations. The best advice I can give you is to view what you read with a skeptical mind. Your best bet is to seek the advice of a certified trainer (I highly suggest you choose only a gym with personnel who are certified by either the NSCA and /or ACSM). I have found the majority of other certifications to be short on peer reviewed research. If that is not an option, then do a search for a website called 'Human Kinetics'. The material available there is backed by sound research.

B vitamins are water soluble, so you can't really overdose on them.

A and D are fat soluble and you CAN overdoes on them.

I agree with getting your levels checked (they can check thyroid, etc while they are at it), I was surprised when I did and here I am getting B12 shots because my levels were so low. There is not a HIGH indicator on B12, meaning there really isn't a high level where they become concerned. B vitamins are peed out, that is why it turns neon! But, man, it gave me my energy back. I was dragging and had no idea why.

B vitamins are soluble but you can OD on them. I found out 8 months ago that I have B6 toxicity and had to stop taking my B complex vitamins. I am still B6 toxic after 6 months of not taking B complex vitamins. :(

B6 toxicity symptoms are neuropathy (I have bilateral neuropathy in my feet, legs, and hands), fatigue (I have little to no energy), headaches (I have a headache everyday) and nerve damage. The neurologist thought I had either MS or a spinal tumor which MRI's ruled both out. She thought it might be zinc, copper, B6 or B12 toxicity and did lab work. All came back normal except the B6.

The symptoms are often misdiagnosed as MS until MRI's rule it out.
