Magee's been going downhill quickly for some time. Yesterday when she tried to get up, her rear legs splayed out behind her, and she whimpered. For all she's been through..diabetes & blood sugar testing twice a day for 4 years, constant battles with UTIs, cataracts, glaucoma...she has always been very stoic & complacent. Never a reaction to anything we've ever had to put her through. So, that little whimper was her way of saying, "It's time." We had a long talk with her; she didn't smile, or wag her tail...it was time.
The vet came out yesterday afternoon. We put Magee in her wagon, and as soon as her friend the vet said "Hi Magee!", she put her leg out. She went very quietly. Sunny, Ruby, & Bella were there. We put her under the magnolia tree. RIP, Topps Sita Magnolia, THD. You are, & always will be, the Magee-est Magee in the whole world.
Magee is the smaller brindle. She was never alone, the other dogs always looked out for her since she was blind.
