Just to clarify you are talking the Dogo Canario and NOT the Dogo Argentino. Usually when one refers to the Dogo they are speaking of the latter. Just to avoid any confusion for anyoneThere are a couple Presa owners on here,I've never owned one, but I've done an extensive amount of reading and researching on them. From what I've read/seen they're just as much (probabaly more so) as serious guard dog than the CC! There is alot of contreversy between the whole "dogo vs. Presa thing AKA working vs. show. Some people view the presa and dogo a different breed at this point. If you truely want to learn about the Presa go check out elpresa.com , some of the members can be a little bit on the blunt side. But that is probably the best place to learn about the Presa. But overall the Presa is not for a first time dog owner. I'd say get some mastiff experience before you consider a dog of that caliber.

Yep, you're right. My appoligies for any confusion, I meant to type Dogo Canario, SORRY! You are also right normally when people say "dogo" they are refering to the Dogo Argentino. But in this case (when talking about the Presa) When people say Dogo they're usually talking about the Dogo Canario! I really didn't think anyone would confuse the Dogo Argentino with Presa Canario, they're obviously a different breed and to me do not have that many simmilarities.Just to clarify you are talking the Dogo Canario and NOT the Dogo Argentino. Kevin- Why did you even comment if there is no point? To concur with Cody and sound smart?Or was it to make me sound less intelligent? Do you have Any actual useful info on this topic?
I thought of replying with something along these lines as well.Thinking in my head "they sure as hell are two different breeds" But then thought, why even bother replying. heh
Nah I don't have too many problems with people. It was just the last part of your post made me kind of think that. "why even bother replying. Heh. I really don't want to argue. Good point about the dog fighting history and the dog agression.
I am a first time Presa owner. Riddick is now a bit over 10 months/125 lbs and I couldn't be happier. He came from Cabeza Grande Kennels. Yes, he is a bit "anxious" around other dominant male adult dogs but he's great with children and small dogs. I'd definitely recommend an owner who's gona stay on top of their Presa to kep him/her grounded. The neighbor to our left owns a 2 year old Neo and next to them they own a 4 year old Rott and a 3 year old bluenosed pit. Riddick has gotten into a few tussles with the Neo and the Pit. The Pit charged him in our own front yard and the Neo just wasn't in the mood for Riddick's playfulness. As far as people ago he's great but does get a bit on-guard at night for some reason. I've added new pics and a few vids on his thread.

Thanks everybody who took up for me, I appreciate it. If it wasn't for Kevin getting at me in another thread in a simmilar fashion, I wouldn't of even said anything. Just would of corrected what I said and let it go. But I have to say I do get a little annoyed when people have to take things said on a forum and make them personal. There is no need for that IMO. Luckily, I am not like my little JRT myself ! If I was I would of already threatened a few people and challenged several more to a fight LOL. But that is not the case I believe in live and let live LOL .
