I responded to your post in General Mastiff, no need to post elsewhere.

Dyson? I'm using a 10 gallon wet/dry shop vac at this point. Doggies bring in leaves, sticks, rocks... shop vac sucks it all up! Cheap sponge mop for the walls & ceilings for all the flying drool. What's really crazy is the shop vac gets full of hair in like a couple months, again 10 gallons.... My lab is super clean, she'll step over or walk around stuff. My EM on the other hand... will walk thru anything and just track it all over the house with out a care in the world. Including doggie poo. He's also the cause of the drool stalactites that form around the house. My house is cleanISH. :)

Tosa is crazy when i start vacuuming and cleaning. She becomes so excited, she starts playing around, jumping, and then i can never do my job properly.. As i wipe, out of the corner of my eye i can see a big shadow running towards me and making new mess. It's priceless. :lolbangtable:

My fianc* is the clean freak in our household. I think he genuinely has OCD (never been properly diagnosed, but it's been suggested a number of times), so I feel kind of bad because the dogs and I are walking tornadoes. He is the type of person that will get up on a Saturday at 5am-6am just to get a head start on cleaning the house (I often wake up to the smell of cleaning products, rather than the smell of coffee). Me on the other hand, cleaning is secondary. I would rather have fun with the dogs and worry about cleaning afterward. The dogs and I only drive my fianc* slightly crazy.

I've recently become more vigilant about cleaning; we're replacing the carpet w (wood) laminate & getting rid of the white flooring in the kitchen & carpeted den.
So glad that the carpet is gone! I don't care that I'm sweeping numerous x/day now. My Tosa/Boxer cross doesn't shed much but my pit/border collie/lab/? shelter pup sheds like crazy for a short haired dog.

The laundry is something else entirely. They have managed to get most every blanket & claim as their own. Ha. Oh well.

OP, I also live in VA. The recent stretch of humidity hasn't helped with my efforts to keep the house not smelling like dog.
