The Litter Robot? It is, and their customer service is awesome. The one time I had a problem (the plug failed) it was just out of warrenty. Not only did they help me trouble-shoot, they sent me the replacement part at no charge so long as I'd return the faulty one to them.

So its worth the $300? Thinking of saving that for a dyson I have one already but might need another one.

Wow you would be horrified at my cleaning schedule then haha. I do spot cleans as I go and then about once a week or every other week I get so mad at the dog hair, dust, mess, etc that I do a deep clean that takes hours. Once we move and we're in a bigger space I'm going to set up a schedule.

Well, keeping in mind that its not the largest area litterbox ever (so some larger cats may have issues getting their rears in), and it IS a covered litter box, I have been delighted with mine and the only reason I've not bought a 2nd is my older cat won't use a covered litter box. It doesn't take up any more floor space than the other litter boxes I've had, but its tall, so it won't fit into some odd spots where people tend to stick them.

I just try to clean as go and with Thor it seems like all the time, LOL. There are some days I get so exhusted I put it off for a day or so.

Hmm....I'll keep that in mind I don't have a cat but co-worker does and he mentioned it was the BEST thing ever. If I had one I would be worried about the cat "missing" and the litter everywhere.

Not much litter gets kicked out due to the design, and they DO sell an extended lip to help control any misses, but it can be an issue.

I'm far from a neat freak, but my place isn't too bad for having 2 kids and 3 dogs. I wish it were spotless but that only happens about once a month, where I get every inch totally clean at the same time lol. Someday I'll have a maid! I was paying my younger sister to come help clean once a week, but she just had a baby so I think that's over :(

I would marry my Dyson if I could. It's 9 years old now and still going strong! LOVE IT!

I love my dyson too, best $300 I spent. I told my dad that he looked at me like I was crazy LOL!

I am certainly not a neat freak.
The only thing that always get done are dishes and the counters get wiped down immediately. I have a counter surfer. Other than that I try to vacuum and wash the nose prints of the windows once a week. Washing any floors takes more incentive than other chores but muddy paws do work.
I agree that the dyson vacuum is great the only problem I have is that the fur from one of my cats will actually plug it up so that it no longer has suction :)

We have 2 kids (7yr & 4yr), 2 cats, and an EM. I have WHITE tile floors in the kitchen, laundry, and foyer...So even as I am finishing mopping I have already gotten cat or dog hair and it shows. They get steamed every weekend, but have conceded that I will lose the battle of the floors. I have found a great new item, ceramic tile that mimics the look of hardwoods. They look awesome like wide plank floors but are durable, scratch resistant tiles. Saving up now to redo the whole house, every room.

Ditto on the dyson love! It's worth every penny we spent on it.

Mamie, I've seen those tiles, they're on my list if we can ever get the floors redone.

All white tile floors, that would drive me nuts lol!

they do drive me nuts- lol they were already in the house when we bought it, I never thought a thing about the hair til we got the cats 2 months after we moved in, then ugh. Now with our lovely little EM, she has wonderful drool drops all over the floor, I absolutely love when she drinks and drips on the white tiles, so glad it never shows( and yes this is said with much sarcasm). hahahaha, but I wouldn't trade and of my babies for a clean floor, instead I found a new tile to try to hide the mess. As 1 other owner on here said, just go ahead and match your furniture and floors to the drool and hair.

Cleaning: any disinfectants or odor neutralizers safe for dogs?

I read that baking soda and apple cider vinegar mixed with water and sprayed here and there help keep the doggie odor at bay in addition to regular cleaning. Any other suggestions?

I've never heard of that solution as an air freshener. I guess it could work but you'll probably have white spots from the baking soda. I use baking soda/vinegar/water as a household cleaner.

I make my own air freshener with orange oil, water and alcohol. I always apply orange oil to cotton balls and place them around the apartment. They should be replaced every 3-4 days to keep the fresh.

It's best to post it in training or health & nutrition forum so you can get more replies to your post. I'll respond on that post. Thanks!
