Manly breeds

noooooo labrador No2 in the list? I disagree with that one... I personally laugh when i see men walking toy or small breeds its just funny for me. But i also love to see women walking the "manly" breeds. Plus the Cane Corso should be number 1. :)

False!!! To me, to say that any dog is "manly" based on it's looks it silly. That is like saying some cars are more manly. I have an EM that I picked, but my daddy has weiner dogs. No, and labs are more of a kids dog to me. I guess some women may feel impressed with a large dog, but that would probably be because she doesn't understand the different breeds. Of course, I may look at a guy with one eyebrow raised if he were to gush over his Yorkie. LOL So maybe there is a little something to it. Maybe the more manly breeds are the short hairs that don't need much brushing. And then in regards to the last bit that pitbulls are automatically disqualified because they are not domesticated enough is infuriating.

I would have easily pegged the Corso as number 1 but then again, not alot of people are familiar with that breed, I know I was one of those people! I can't see a man with a husky or a lab though, the others I can see!

That list is confusing I think, How is a Corso bellow a lab and how is Physical presence of a lab greater than an EM? For the record I had a lab growing up and loved him but manly she was not.

Yeah some of the comments on there were like, whoa! Like the comments made about pits at the end of the article. And labs intelligence factor 8 and corso intelligence factor 5? I dont think so.

however....

if you're downtown Vancouver, and you see a fellow walking a fluffy, 9 out of 10 he is gay. Except for my hairdresser who walks his girlfriend's white fluffy puppy. but if I didn't know, ida thought he was gay.

I don't know Corso's well enough to gauge their intelligence level but I certainly would have no problem putting a lab at an 8

So not true :(

I see anyone with a Lab of any kind and I think: "What, that's as original as you can be?" A single guy walking one is automatically boring, an attached guy walking one with his GF is solidly whipped. I agree with most of the other dogs on the list, if not their exact placement. I've seen more English Bulldogs with women than with men though and I've never even seen a Ridgeback outside a show so I'm not sure how they managed to hit #1.

Honestly, I put a lot more stock in how the dog behaves and how it interacts with its owner. You might have a Dobie, but if it's barking it's damn head off at everyone while you chat on your cell-phone you don't look manly, you look like a tool.

How can a domestic dog breed not be domesticated enough? Whoever made that list needs to do a bit more research before publication.

I dont think a dog is more manly but some are certainly more girly. What do they consider a man? If it's a tough guy well half the list is gone. Even if the dogs tough. I dont think bulldogs, labs, or husky's strike me as tough guy. If they figure man means scrotum, well then any dog over 50lbs . Under that your old or have a girly dog. Or barking cat as I call them.

Same with cars. A chick in a 4x4 is cool. A dude in a prius, well it's a dude in a damn prius..... Gay or straight dont matter. Dude, you drive a prius, you better fight MMA or race dirt bikes or something

Uhh...have you ever seen a guy driving a newer VW bug or a mazda miatta? Those are about as girly as it gets for cars. There's definitely nothing etched in stone but this is more of just a fun article to laugh at than anything else imo. I do find it really odd when i see a guy walking a poodle, any type of fluffy toy dog or something similar, lab isn't necessarily unmanly just incredibly dull imo...everybody and their brother's mother seems to have one nowadays.

I think the main reason anyone is impressed with someone having a large dog is b/c they themselves have never owned one and don't know how anyone could handle them.

The pit bull thing is just stupid and obviously the writer is buying into all the BS that goes around this breed. Not domesticated? They aren't wolves people....come on.

I really dislike the intelligence rating, a Corso gets a 5? For real? Corso are far brighter than a measly 5.
