How about some good thoughts for Dozer?

Whew!! Well Dozer is doing so much better. When I got home he was still a little slow and stiff and cried when I checked his neck and foreleg. He and Jade had ate the morning RAW and the 2 cups of kibble I set out which is unusual so I fixed up some more RAW and Dozer devoured it. I gave him another aspirin and a Turmeric pill. He went out the back deck and hopped down the stairs and wandered around the yard as normal. Later I gave them all a beef rib to chew on and he went at it like normal. He has been sleeping alot since this started I hope it is just healing going on paired with the extra food needs. This morning he acted as if nothing had happened and no crying from pressure checks on his body. I found a cut on Duncan's nose and he is walking a little stuiff too, I am wondering if they had a fight the other day when I walked Jade around the corner and back or maybe a stray dog got over the fence with them. I check the security cams and can't find anything, but a fight would explain it all. Same shoulder that Duncan bit Dozer on years back that required surgery to reattach the muscle (pic below). Or could this old injury be flaring up and causing this issue?

Oh Pic from last night of Dozer enjoying his bone.

I am so glad that he is doing better I was afraid to continue reading this thread.

I'll admit I thought he was on his way out yesterday. So glad he is a tough one, I hope whatever this is/was just goes away and does not show up again.

Whew! Glad Dozer's feeling more like Dozer!

Do you have any extra supplements for him? I know you like Nupro Silver, but not sure if that has all the MSM/Glu/Chondroitin that an older gentleman would need?

I know when our Rott/GSD/Pyrn got older and arthritic, he always felt better when we upped his MSM/Glu/Chon tabs. He also was noticeably happier after a buffered aspirin. Today, the vet would probably give us Tramadol and tell us to avoid aspirin...

Good vibes sent from me and Denna in hopes that the aches stay away this time!

He is doing great. Was trotting around the yard yesterday with his tail high and even bouncing a little in his walk like he was showing off a little.. He and his pop skipped this mornings meal but they do that once in awhile when they eat heavy the day before. Yesterday I took them all to the pond and let them cool down. Had to leash them as there were other people nearby.

My daughter's chihuahua carried himself the same way. Head and tail way down. Turns out he has three crushed disks in his back and neck. Any chance it could be something like that with your Dozer?
He's a beautiful boy and my thoughts are with you both.

It could be a disk problem or arthritis or even a cancer. He is part Rottweiler and they are prone to bone cancers. He could have even tripped down the stairs.

Glad he is doing better!

Do you have him on any pain meds regularly like carprofen or rimadyl? If not, it might help with his arthritis.

I really don't want him on narcotics or steroidal drugs. We will stick with the aspirin and glucosamine supplements for as long as we can.

Glad to hear your pups doing better. Duke went through somethin like this. In 24hr he went from a limp to could not stand on his hind legs. Vet said it was maybe a bug, pinched nerve, or plant poked. I got money on the huge ass cacti in the back. ahahaha. At any rate, glad the pups doing better

Thanks. My trainer/breeder for Jade suggested that maybe he had a stroke. His pains were all on his left side, but I see no signs of lingering side effects. Also I did find a new fluffy sort of mushroom growing in the lawn yesterday and they eat the grass all the time. Maybe he got a mouthful of these and it made him act up. Will be looking for info on them.
