How about some good thoughts for Dozer?

This morning Dozer was having some problems getting around I assumed it was his hips and arthritis flaring up but then he was laying on the love seat and started crying, then yelped. I moved Jade away from him thinking she sat on his hip but he continued to cry and stiffened his back leg. I massaged it and he stopped crying. I picked him up and moved him to the couch. After a few minutes he came to me in the office and was crying again. I checked him over and and found his neck, shoulders back legs and lower back were causing him pain. I gave him a good gentle massage and some aspirin. He ate his morning meal standing which is good but I can see he is still in pain. He has gone through this before but not as bad. I hope he is better by the time I get home, or I am afraid of what the next step might be.

I am so sorry, Mike. I will be thinking some positive thoughts for Dozer. I have heard great reviews about LubriSyn for dogs with joint issues and arthritis. I am not sure if this an option, but it is all I could think of.

Thanks all. Last time when he did this we rushed to the vet. When we got there he was all better. They gave him a look over and suggested it was arthritis pain and the hip dysplasia, and sent us home. I keep checking on the Dozer cam and it looks like Jade is letting him rest but now he is hiding under the house where it is nice and cool and he has a full queen mattress to lay on.

Thanks again,

Man it really just makes my heart/chest hurt. I thought I was going to have a heart attack this morning because my chest hurt so bad during this. I know it's just stress but damn!!

Well I just checked the cam and he came out from under the house about an hour ago and laid down with Jade. His posture looks better ans it looks like he dug at the dirt a little which is good, meaning that he still has enough mobility to do this. My Ex is going to try to make it up in a little bit to check on him for me. Hope her and Jade get along this time. I am a little afraid Jade might protect Dozer being as he is in need. I told her don't push it if Jade looks concerned just come here to my work and we will just have to wait and see when we get done shopping and get home.

Just about to have a full break down. Was looking at his photos and I have pretty much lost it now.

Would an arthritis flair show up and disappear that quickly? Pinched Nerve perhaps? I wish him speedy and lasting recovery!

We're sending positive, healing vibes to Dozer!!

Have you ever considered/investigated acupuncture? My dogs have it done for different reasons, but I can't say enough about the results for both of them!

I know how you feel Mike. My last dog was a lab and he had bad hips as well. As he got older he would have flare ups as your described and it would break my heart. We hurt so much when our pets are in pain. I hope Dozer feels better soon :)

Did Dozer eat something toxic from the yard? Like plants or mushrooms? I hope he gets well soon. Poor boy

void, he is only 11 but a pretty big dog that had a rough start at birth and a serious illness just a few years back I think he is aging prematurely.

Kelsey I am thinking a neck spasm is possible because of the way he is holding his head. Kind of down and a little to the side.

CeeCee, I am kind of land locked, I live on a mountain with 2 Vet clinics up here and the next closest is like 100 miles away. Not sure there is anything in a reasonable drive that could help.

Jersey Girl, It could be as you described, I have seen him act up before but this is a little more over all pain this time.

Hector, I doubt a toxic substance as we have been in this yard for 10/12 years and the only thing we get that might be harmful are mushrooms. But non recently.

Thanks all, his latest camera appearance didn't look good his head and tail are down which is not his normal posture.
Robin was not able to enter the yard when she got here so it will be 2 more hours before I can check on him.
