Oh my lol shar pei.
I would be delighted if someone asked me if my dog was a Kane/King Corso - granted she's really small for her size, our last one was a lot bigger, but still - she is not a 'boxer mix'. I've never gotten pit but unfortunately no one ever gets Cane Corso. I honestly can't blame them for saying "Kane/Cane" because AKC just accepted them as a breed a few years ago and the pronunciation came right around that time. When we got our first Corso 8-9 years ago, we didn't know calling it a Cane Corso "Kane" was bad. When I heard it during the dog shows pronounced Kah-Ne I was actually surprised. Regardless - I have a miniature mastiff that is mostly considered a boxer mix by most general public people. I just keep reminding myself that when our first Corso was a puppy people often asked "Oh your full grown lab is beautiful!" - um, no ma'am - she's a 4 month Cane Corso Mastiff, but thanks.I have to disagree lol.
I don't think I have ever been asked if Black Jack was a boxer or a pit, I get asked if he is a mastiff, then what kind.
Aurora has been called a pit before, but it doesn't phase me. I think it would bother me more if everyone knew what hey were, I do have a relatively rare breed. The more I get "is that a Kane/King Korso? My buddy got one off some guy on 22x" the sadder I get for my breed. Many times after looking at the guy that calls out "hey that's a sick pittie" I just smile say thanks and keep walking
