Cane Croso mistaken for a Pittbull?

We get asked if Moose is a pitbull everytime we are out socializing him. We haven't got the boxer question last week, but last week he was playing with a boxer. The owner asked how old Moose was and we told her 12 wks. She couldn't believe it b/c moose was almost as big as her 5 month old boxer.

I had a lady INSIST that Stella (CC) was a rottie mix. I told her no, this dog is papered and also happens to look nothing like a rottie. Then she said cane was carne, so my dog was probably Spanish and not Italian. I was so confused lol.

I get boxer mix a lot. People have asked if she is a Dane. Then people tell me I got a nice KAIN Corso (they seem so proud when they say it too ha). And because Stella's ears are done ppl ask if she is a pit. They also ask if I got her that way or if I really cut off her ears by choice. Lol recently a lady who was admiring Stella mentioned how it is sooo sad how ppl still crop ears. It also is so sad that Stella has to eat raw steak and pork everyday, poor dog has such a cruel owner. Ha

Tonight I had dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets and pizza rolls... (I was working tonight lol) and Stella had steak for both her meals! Plus I gave her some yogurt, oils, and slippery elm.

My girl corso, who is black gets mistaken for a pit, shar pei, and akita.

My boy, who is fawn, is getting constantly mistaken for a boxer.....sigh

One of my biggest pet peeves is hearing Kain Corso. My vet insists on saying it after repeated corrections over the course of 3 different corsos ive had

lol. I've had a million people ask me if my girl was a pit bull. My girl is on the smaller size of CC, so I can understand it a little bit more. But I had a 120 pound male CC with me all last week, and I got pit bull a lot, I was confused LOL

I am so glad I am not the only one who gets asked how old my Boxer is. I thought that it was just people around here eating too many lead paint chips or something. Haha.
We haven't heard it much in the past few weeks, but I think that's because Vito isn't quite as gangly looking as he was last month at 5 months. He's now bigger than any boxer I've seen, although the brindle colouring is probably still going to get him confused occasionally.
I've also had a ton of people guess pit bull! Not a single person has guessed Cane Corso but they are not common here at all. Some people have guessed that he was a mastiff though. They get bonus points. ;-)

I can't believe what some of you have heard... or been TOLD what your dogs are! Some people.!

I would have never thought all you would get boxer. Of all things I would have thought pit bull would be most likely.

id reather have my my guys be called a boxers than pit lol (nothing against pit but with alot of boxer looking cc or boxer crossed cc out there, it closerest to the look than pits i think lol)

I have to disagree lol.
I don't think I have ever been asked if Black Jack was a boxer or a pit, I get asked if he is a mastiff, then what kind.
Aurora has been called a pit before, but it doesn't phase me. I think it would bother me more if everyone knew what hey were, I do have a relatively rare breed. The more I get "is that a Kane/King Korso? My buddy got one off some guy on 22x" the sadder I get for my breed. Many times after looking at the guy that calls out "hey that's a sick pittie" I just smile say thanks and keep walking ;)

hhmmm maybe i need to barrow your way of thinking lol but i cant get over these pit comments lol it just get tiring to have b told pit this n pit that every time i walk out the door lol i just try really hard to bite my tough but its even hard to just smile lol so if u can give me some tips on how to not go crazy pls tell me lol
