What breed do people confuse your dog with?

Looks like they often have an crop very similer to the CC, but I'm not sure I'd consider them to be that similer otherwise? Though I've not spent that long looking at CC's so I could be wrong.

Believe it or not, just last week someone asked me if Jake was a pug, he's over 140 pounds! Usually I get boxer occasionally English Mastiff, but Bullmastiff's aren't very common in my area so a lot of people just ask what he is if they don't know.

I believe it! I think Mason was nearing 100 the last time I was asked if he was a pug.

Now I get Mastiff or English Massive mostly. People guess correctly less than half of the time, and then when I tell them the breed or try to explain EM vs BM they're still adament that my dog is going to be over 200lbs.

wow lol i feel kinda bad know i also c how they may have mistaken my baby for one
but i also c that this breed also have variesion of the breed like the corso

but from what i compared corso r abit more stocky, about 2-4 taller,n short muzzle, n i think a wider head n muzzle

Sadly, there are some breeders who are producing 200 pound BM's. I was surprised when someone was bragging that their Neo was over 220 and how they are now the biggest breed of dog out there. Not that I care about holding that title but as far as I am concerned, Neos should not be that big.

Jeez. I would hate to see what that looks like. Is it real size or fat? I see a lot of breeders (in other breeds) touting huge when their dogs are just morbidly obese.

Someone asked us if Deedee was a pug, too. She weighed in at around 120 lbs. at the time. That's her in my avatar.
Someone once complimented us on our beautiful "australian rottweilers". WTF is that?!?!
We frequently get Englis mastiff; I can understand that, although we try to politely correct & say BULLmastiff. The brindles often get mis identified as pit bulls, as they yank their children away. "Cause you know; those pit bulls will kill their children. (eye roll)

I had to bring this thread back to life. Ruger and I went down to the boat dock in my neighborhood several hours ago just to look around. My boy is much like me, in that, being near a body of water just makes him feel good. We saw several people who made comments."Wow, he is big!", I bet his poop is HUGE!" (I absolutely hate that one the most) Of course, everyone asks his age and are in awe when I say 7 months and want to know how much bigger he will get. Pretty normal stuff when this guy (probably late 30's, Early 40's) wanders up and says "St. Bernard, right?". That through me off...Really? A St.Bernard? Am I missing something?

See, I can understand when people ask if Apollo's a St Bernard cross, St Bernards are often the only giant, patterned, fluffy breed people are familier with, but Ruger?? He's not even a fluff EM?!

I always get is that a Shar-pei and I say no he's a Dogue de Bordeuax they say what.. then i say he's a French Mastiff and they usually say oh is it one if those hooch dogs? and finally they have some idea what I'm talking about.

lol this just reminded me when someone said my cc was a dogo i said no not even close than this person said there the same thing !?!?!? and he said thasaw a dogo that like actally like my cc lol

About 80% of people think that Kona ( brindle girl) is a Lab and that Java ( fawn boy) is a great dane. They are litter mates and 8 months old, so I doubt the lab comment will happen in the future.
