I just heard from Robin's sister in law. They are at A&M with Justice and they are waiting for results of tests/exams. Nothing to report as of yet but please keep sending prayers and thoughts their way. As soon as I hear anything else I will update.

Wow, it sure is wonderful to open up the forum and see all the well wishes. We have been at A&M since early this morning. We are just waiting. They took him in under the emergency clinic and we are now waiting for a neuro consult. Their preliminary exam is coming up with nothing. They won't let me stay with him and it is killing me. I usually don't allow them to take them to the back but I'll do anything at this point. I haven't seen him in about 4 hours.

Still sending good thoughts your way. It's good news that they haven't let you see him - it means they're working to diagnose and help him. In my experience, being called into the back of an emergency clinic isn't a good thing. So I hope, as boring and stressful as it is, you get to stay planted right in the waiting room.

We are home. No real news. We have an MRI and CSF tap scheduled for 1st thing in the morning. Blood work and preliminary neuro exam didn't find anything significant. There was a couple of abnormal results from the neuro but they didn't seem overly concerned and didn't think it ties in with the seizure.

If anyone can shed some light on what this means that would be great. Under Cranial Nerves(nerve function) It has II,VII Vision & Menace it says absent but appears visual. Vet said he is not blinking or has a slower blink than normal. I asked for a better explanation but he really couldn't come up with one. I will ask the actual neurologist in the morning.

I'm so glad you are home and do far nothing horrible was found. I've been thinking about y'all all day. I'll keep praying for the little man. I think he is going to be just fine.

I have no idea what any of that means do I'm not able to help there.

Is he still vomiting? How does he appear to feel?

Ugh. What the hell does "abnormal results from the neuro" mean...in terms of not really being a big deal?

How are you feeling about all of this, ab? I feel confused...

The best news is I was able to talk them into letting me bring Justice home tonight. They didn't won't to but an old woman crying gets the baby vets very unnerved. No one wants to see their grandmother crying. LOL Please keep Mr. chunk in your thoughts we are not out of the woods yet but we are trying everything we can think of. He will have to be under anesthesia for the MRI and the spinal tap. They X-rayed his chest as a prelim for the anesthesia and they said that looked good. So far he is holding down his food and water.

If I could hug each and every one of you I would climb through this pc and do it. Thank you for all the support.

Sounds like good news to me so far. I wouldn't worry about the menace response. It's a learned response, not an inherent reflex, so a lot of puppies don't have a fully developed menace until up to 4 months of age. As long as the palpebral reflex is normal (CNN V and VII), then there's no real problem there. Glad to hear they're able to get him into an MRI tomorrow!

I'm sorry I type slow on a good day and right now I'm mentally drained. Keeping up with ya'll is hard enough on a good day. :)

Just did some quick reading and it looks like "Cranial Nerves" and the specific numerals called out pertain to different areas. I.E. Cranial nerve II is the Optic Nerve. Cranial nerve VII is the Facial nerve. I've been keeping tabs on this thread... Very, sorry to hear about this all and hoping something great happens in the near future... Thoughts are with you guys.

I'm glad they didn't find any massive abnormalities and that you were able to bring him home. I don't know much about neurology so cannot comment on their findings. Just wanted to check in and see how things were going. I'm glad they're able to get him in for an MRI tomorrow, that's great news! I hope they find something minor that is manageable and conclusive.

Stay strong. He's very lucky to have you, not everyone would go to the lengths you have to figure this out. You're doing everything you can, and at the end of the day, that's all anyone could ever ask.

SJ, THANK YOU. You don't know what a load you just took off my mind. The vet said it was not worrisome but when it is on the neuro report. I got worried. Our student vet was very good but their was a language barrier and he couldn't quite find the words to say what you did. I'm thrilled. His Palpebral was normal on both sides. YES!!!!
