So I guess I could have got in trouble or handled this better. When I was at Staters just a while ago there was this little boy having a tantrum, screaming yelling and pulling stuff off the shelves onto the floor. I tried to ignore it and walked by him. I heard a gasp from the woman in front of me so I spun around and somehow snatched this can of soup out of the air. When I looked it was just about 2 inches away from the head of the little girl in the stroller in front of me. I walked over to this little brat and grabbed him by his jacket and lifted him to eye level. I asked if he knew what dead and killed meant. He had gone quiet but nodded his head. I told him he almost killed that little girl. He started to cry again. I told him shut the hell up and where is your mom. He pointed to the lady with the little girl. I set him down next to the stroller and knelt down to him. Then whispered "Do it again and I will fly you over the meat counter, got me" He nodded. I looked at his mom and said sorry had to say something. She just looked at me and said thank you. The little boy grabbed his mom's hand and she looked like she was in shock like he never did that before. After that I realized my BP and rate were through the roof so I went into the bathroom and sat down a few minutes. I feel pretty good but kinda bad for scaring the little boy. Good or bad it's done.

Maybe he learned a lesson and that'll be the last time he pulls a tantrum like that? I can hope right?

Ruth one can only hope.
Mastino, I just don't know how I caught the can of soup. Texas and Mountains are pretty much the same.

Job well done Mike. That whole "takes a village to raise a child" thing pops into my mind. If parents aren't going to raise their children right, someone needs to try to help.

Bravo

Maybe you have ninja like reflexes Mike! I'm convinced my future kids (if any) are going to be assholes just bc of the type of kid I was, I'll maybe have to call on you to ensure they behave properly & I don't end up on one of those murder shows. Lol.

Kidding of course!

as a parent of well behaved children i thank you for that, It dos my head that some kid are let to behave worse than the dogs people call out of control, we have puppy training class, there should be children training class for kid like that.

Well no matter what I still feel bad for scaring the kid but the gratitude from the mom makes up for some of the guilt. Not Ninjitsu but I do have some specialized skills, it's just been so long since I practiced that it surprised me.

I hear ya, Mike, but sometimes it takes a little bit of reality/fear to let them know it's unacceptable behavior.

Seriously though I not a fan of ill temp children or the fact society supports this. If I had behaved like that my folks would have ripped a new one.

My mom carried a squirt bottle. If I missbehaved squirt in the face. At least that's what she tells me, but I don't remember it.

Very similar situation but a different outcome. My 1st cousin who works off-shore was home for 2 weeks. His wife and 2 daughters picked him up at the airport and while on the way home they stopped at the grocery store. While there 1 of their little girls thru a tantrum and was running down a row of shelves knocking the can goods in the floor. My cousin picked her up, spated her 1 time on her leg and put her in the shopping cart. They finished buying their groceries, proceeded to the check out counter where they paid for their items. As they walked out of the grocery there were 2 deputy sheriffs waiting who placed the husband and wife in handcuffs and placed the 2 girls in child protection. So, can you disipliene(sp) your children in public?
