When are you planning on getting a Boerboel? Didn't you just get a Fila puppy? I personally would hold off on another large dominant breed until you have set your foundation with your current pup. A fila pup is going to be a lot of work training and socializing. As you said that this was your first mastiff I would wait until your current pup is older. Mastiffs require a HUGE amount of training and socializing to have a well adjusted dog, that you are going to need to be able to control. These are not easy breeds, they are daily work. That is just my opinion, but you have no idea what you are in for with your Fila yet as you have another 9-10 months before you see the true temperament.

More Boerboel owners suggest growing them together rather than introducing a pup to an adult. I would avoid the big boned heavy BBs as they have higher instances of related disorders. Always try to find the middle of the road size dogs, they work better and last longer with less complications.

I just purchased a pup from skyviewboerboels.com they are located in Hammondsville, Oh. They are very good people and have excellent dogs. I have been dealing back and forth with them for weeks now.

I wouldn't get any dog from them. They breed black dogs which are not Boerboels but call them Boerboels. With the current actions regarding the breed organizations it is likely that all Black dogs registered as Boerboels will be unregistered. Also brown dogs born from black dogs would be come disqualified.
