Man I missed a lot! I'm glad to hear the forum isn't going away...otherwise I might have to find another addiction. Lol :p

It is not the way I'm reading it. Looks like there is a battle between Vicki and Shon. Not knowing either person it is hard to tell who is telling the truth. Honestly, not knowing the legal problems no one should donate. If it is a battle over who owns the site the courts could come in and close the boards down and you would have wasted your money.

I've noticed the dates for the 'end' of the forum have changed from what they were this morning....

Due to an ongoing legal matter, it appears that there is not enough funds to cover the server costs to operate this site for this month. Currently, the amount needed to cover the remainder of the server costs totals $397. If this amount is not accumulated by Saturday, August 24th, the server (along with this site) will go offline and have a total of two additional days before being completely deleted. If this happens, a total of $447 will be required before August 26th, otherwise all services will be reclaimed by the hosting company and all information deleted.

I might be being overly suspicious but.....

My post was too soon. There was an update on FB, I guess posted by Vicki about 2 hours ago stating not to donate anything as this Mr. Dennison has refused her offer to pay? Hmmm...

While, I am aware that not all forums are able to make funds on their own, this forum runs multiple advertising banners. Those banners do make money based the amount of hits per day the page gets in most circumstances. If this was an add free forum/page then I could understand the need for donations. If the legal problem is between the advertising company and the owner of the boards then I could understand the reason for a dispute, but I do not understand how that problem would not resurface in following months.

Are there other advertising companies set up to pay for the forums in the future?

Also, I would like more information, and while I do understand that you cannot disclose the information of the case that is pending. I do not think it would be too much to disclose an accounting of incoming advertisings payments and outgoing costs to maintain the site (what the adds bring in and how much the server space and usage costs).

Do not donate to the Mastiff Forum, Game- Dog or Pit Bull Chat. I have offered to pay the full amount of the server. Mr. Dennison has refused. These forums make money, and there is no reason to solicit funds from anyone.

  • Gail Bell Go to the forum; there's a request for donations at the top to keep the server going. I'm assuming this is Vicki who started this post. I would be extremely disappointed if the forum went down. I don't often post anymore, but I check in at least once a day. I'm not sure what's going on, but please keep us informed, either here or on the forum.

  • Mastiff Forum This is Vicki. Shon was ordered by the court to not spend the income from the forums except for expenses. The three forums combined, between ads and memberships have exceeded $3000 some months. There is absolutely NO reason for anyone to give, this is NOT a donation, the forums are NOT a 501c corporation, Mr. Dennison any monies. I have offered to cover the server expense.

I'm sure glad someone asked the question... I was about to, and ya'll saved me the effort.

Very confused as to the issue... so I guess I'll sit back and see what happens...

I filed a dispute with PayPal and gave the link to the donate button. Button and are banner gone now, lets see if PP gets my money back. I don't have an issue with donating when it is valid but after seeing what Vicki said here and on FB I felt scammed.
