What is your best Xmas gift this year?

Cane is starting to show his age and truthfully I'm pretty worried about him. His hips and his auto immune is taking a toll on him. Cane has always been very reserved, not much for being loved on but always my faithful companion, laying beside the bed or where ever I am. He has always been encouraged to get on the bed but doesn't stay long.

Well, this morning as we were getting up. Debra had went to get the coffee as we do every morning, then we enjoy each others company while we wake up. As soon as Debra left the bedroom. Cane hops up on the bed and curls up in her spot, right next to me. I got to spend a few minutes curled up with Cane. It was magical. Poor Debra had to sit on the floor next to the bed. She didn't mind. It was a special time for both of us.

So, what is your best gift?

I forgot to add my 2nd best gift. Titan and I walked the park this morning around 6:30am and no one else around and hardly any cars. It was like we were the only 2 living beings on the earth. The ducks were even quiet this morning.

Your xmas morning sounds lovely, dog snuggles are the best. Here's to another year with your boy!

My brother, who lives in California, was not going to come home this year. But he called me two days ago and said he was booking a ticket, so could I pick him up at the airport on Christmas Eve. We didn't tell anyone. The look on my mother's face when he walked through her front door was priceless. And Tony is in love with my brother's gf... so when he saw her, he went crazy. It looked like his little nub tail was going to dislocate, it was wagging so fast.

Merry Christmas :)

I would have loved to see your mom's face. For a mom that is truly the best gift. I would have loved to see Tony's little nub going off.

Have a wonderful and blessed day with family!

It's those magical moments like you described, ab, that I cherish and bask in...

This morning on our walk, it was mild, the constant rain from the last few days was finally ending. One thing Mateo has always loved to do- even before his injury- was pull over to the side of the walk, or stop on a grassy hill, or maybe climb up on a bench, and just sit and watch people.... I have always loved this part of him, as I like to just sit and watch the world go by, too..especially with my dog by my side.

This morning was so quiet, very little traffic, and fewer people...so nice! Anyway, we were heading up the block and as soon as we reached a patch of sunshine, Mateo looked up at me as he pulled over to sit in the sun and get his people-watching groove on. At one point I knelt down next to him, he pushed his whole body into me, nuzzling my face...it just felt good, to sit with my boy in the sunshine, and not be bothered by anything else in the world...

A nice moment, on Christmas day. :)

Glad to hear that AB. :)

My gift this morning is a package of bacon cooking in the oven. (yes I remembered to unwrap it. this time)
Had a nice walk with the boy a little while ago, and the streets are empty and quiet. Only thing to make that better would be if it were snowing.

Merry Christmas all.

Well besides being in the States with my wife, it would be us adopting Maury. Even after eating my floor and door frame! Today, my wife and I took all the pups out in the back yard and played for about an hour; still not sure which of us was most tired though! :)

My best present was that the dogs let me sleep in to 10,30 this morning! Moe has not slept passed 6,30 am ever. Needed the sleep after celebrating Christmas until late last night with a few alcoholic beverages involved, lol

Still tucked in bed (all three, Daddy , Bailey & me) We had a wonderful, quiet, but extremely emotionally satisfying Christmas Eve dinner. Bridget came (w/o puppies), husband was relaxed and happy, a feast, the best china, a good selection of alcoholic libations, And Peace. No Christmas tree or presents, but being together was our present. The youngest (loudest) is away with his mom and step-dad in Florida having a ball. So, calm predominates...and as a special treat "The Quiet Man" is on AMC....it's a favourite....oh, fight scene! Bless you all, got to go! Merry Christmas!

This is really exciting for me.... My mom got me all the AKC Rally signs for me and they are laminated. I can finally make my own courses at home while I practice with Thalia. Up until this point, when I come up to a cone, I've just had to make something up for us to do. It will greatly benefit us to have these signs and I could start working with my other dogs as well.

Our best Christmas gift this year is to have Jake still with us and all 4 legs intact. My husband and I didn't exchange much for gifts this year because he is the best gift that we could have asked for. The other gift we received was to have his sister and her new baby over for dinner, he's 9 months old now and to be able to share part of his first Christmas with him was very special!

My uncle surprised us with a recording/video of my then 20 year old grandfather sending home a Christmas record he recorded while he was in the army. Sent from Korea1953.

He passed away 10 years ago this year. So needless to say hearing his voice for the first time in 10 years was very overwhelming, as he was more like my father then my grandad.. He was the one who raised me and my sister up, living with him from first grade up until I was into college. And yes even now I'm struggling to keep it together thinking about it. Truly was a amazing gift.

Oh and the pup got a nice leather collar.

And sorry I tried to edit but idk why he first paragraph is like that.

Beyond being thanful that I am not homeless, My best gift was to have all of the kids, their other halves, the grandbabies and my boys here to Celebrate. The boys love having all of the family over and there is nothing like hearing everyone laughing, talking and playing and eating together. We had our celebration on Christmas Eve and then the boys opened thier presents and stockings on Christmas morning. Life so good.

Of course the best part of Xmas is watching my boys come downstairs and watching their faces light up when they see all the gifts under the tree. And of course to spend the day with my family and my father.
