What is the most dumbass thing a stranger has done with your dogs?

No, no, no!!! It was meant in jest, guys. I would never actually "sick" Grady on people on the property! I feel better venting on the forum but would never stoop so low as to put my dog in danger or risk someone's health!!! Sorry if it came off like that!!!

Id do it if I figured I could hide the body :razzberry:. Of course Im kidding

That's one of my personal favorites: "Oh, he won't hurt you!" as whatever-dog is rushing at us. Look buddy, it's not me I'm worried about getting hurt. That damn fool spaniel/schnauzer/chorkaweeniecockanees of yours is on the attack against a full-grown mastiff that doesn't tolerate other dogs very well. I don't care whether he's a "nice" dog or not, he's going down 'cause you can't be bothered to use a leash.

Bingo, Marrow. People don't seem to realize that just because their idiot dog is friendly that ours are!!! I fear for these people if they have children that run up to strange animals. Leash laws are a good thing!!!

And hahahaha! Hide the body. I'm pretty sure our Boston would dig that sucker right up. Do geese and Boar eat bones? ;)

Lillie doesn't like strangers in her house, I tell my nephews friends to just ignore her and walk on but they insist on trying to pet her or even better yet they want to bend down and look at her in the face!!! I don't know about anyone else but if a dog is growling and barking the LAST place I would want my face is in the face of a dog that's growling at me. I also hear " dogs love me " well maybe other dogs do but Lillie doesn't!!

You know I have to admit, I am guilty of uttering the phrase "Dogs love me usually, don't worry". However I am not a child and know the difference between a nervous bark, a fearful bark, an excited bark and a "get the f*** away from me bark. With that said I am sure there are times where I should have been more cautious than I was and gave a couple owners a bit of a nervous moment. For the record I have yet to ever be bit "knock on wood" lol.

ahhh dumb@$$ things is perfect LOL ... We take should say took (havent been in almost 2 months due to work schedules and baseball) to a farm supply store here (the only place here that alows dogs) when the pups were 5 months poor Jager still freaked abou tthem dang automatic doors, so the girls inside at the counter help me and talk with him hand him treats as were "socializing" him with these moving doors. He was better this time around compaired to the last 2 months, I mean bucking bronc type freaked about them.... anyways, he had tail between legs but not trying to run. Slowly he was relaxing and I was thinking ok lets walk around. This guy who had been standing at the counter and chatting with the girls and I about the pups and differences in them and trying to break his fear. When he's done checking out he comes walking up to say hi to Jager. He has something shiny in his hand that catches Jagers eye. He holds it out, "You want one for a toy and" Clu-Clunk, cla-clunk" a decorated COW bell. At the same time as he holds the thing out and rattles it the movement signals the automatic door.... Jager completely lost it. The only thing he was interested in was a shiny thing in his hand, then it made a loud noise and the door that wants to eat him charged him (in his mind) He is traumatized for ever LOL.

I can't get him to go near the store or the PD when I take him for visits. (my sons like the buttons for handi-cap doors) he forgot Jagers fear of auto doors and hit the button just as I reached to open it ... we have to use the back enterance now hahaha

Hey, in all fairness, dog eating doors are kinda scary. hahahaha

Hahaha yes, yes they are! He will stand his ground in the parkinglot and stare at the doors now. Before when he started doing it it was easy I could just pick him up, now? ya not so much he's about 30lbs bigger then me. But hey if I ever have a fence problem again, Cow bells all around. However I have a feeling Octane will think their the coolest toy ever :D

Im fairly certain that if you lined your fence with cowbells and Octane thought they were fun, poor Jager would end up being neurotic from the sound of cowbell lol.

For me, the dumbest thing someone did to my English mastiff was this: my husband went drinking with his buddies one night. I was at home sleeping and he came inside with his friends. The girlfriend was drunk. We don't get a lot of guests so Dozer is not used to people coming in and out. She came inside and got down head level with him and tried to hug him. He let out some menacing barks and scared her sober I think.

When will people realize that not every dog wants to be your friend (at least not strange dogs) and especially when you are 'invading' their property.

Sigh.

Luckily, Dozer has never bitten anyone, he just barks at people which I think is enough as a lot of people are not used to dogs of their size. LOL

The dumbest thing that's ever happened with my dog was when I was at a friend's house hanging out. I had Zillie in the front yard where she was just laying in the grass while I helped my friend groom her dog, well her boyfriend at the time came out of the house with ZERO warning and went up to Zillie and jumped in her face three time repeatedly! Third times the charm I guess and she snapped on his face. Got him on the forehead and lip. This all happened within seconds so I couldn't just stop him from doing it.
I tell everyone to not lean over her because it weirds her out and I had told him this so he knew not to get in her face. After the incident I found out that apparently he likes jumping in all dogs faces to see what they will do and Zillie was the first to get him. He learned his lesson after that.
Some people have to learn the hard way.

Zillie is very mild mannered and she is always going out in public with me, but he made her feel threatened and she gave him the first 2 times to stop and when he didn't she made sure he did.

Luckily my friend broke up with him not long after that.

As for the stupidest thing anyone has ever said to me would be that my dog is going to get the taste for blood and start killing everything since I raw feed her. I get this often.
I tell them thats a myth and that she hangs out with my hens often and doesn't attempt to kill them.

An inebriated idiot who was visiting a neighbor thought it was a good idea to challenge my 140# dog. That incident has me reeling every time I think about it...dumb, stupid, #%*£><.

Climbing a fence to get into my girlfriend's back yard because she wasn't answering her front door and sneaking up on a sleeping male german shepherd of about 100lbs trying to get to the back door of the house...This woman was the epitomy of stupid especially because she knew that the dog was there sleeping DUH! and she knew that we were expecting her as she was coming to look at puppies, so instead of waiting she got a good chomp in the ass and rightfully so in my opinion... Some people are just soooo stupid...
