Sit down with "boss"...Anyone done it?

I mean hopefully you can find something a bit less stressful!

Agreed, for both of you! My last job was stressful misery. So much so that I was ready to abandon my corporate career. My current job (the one after the hell job) is so opposite and wonderful. I was at my old job almost 4 years. This one almost 2 years now. I'm honestly finally recovering from the stress and huge self esteem issues the last job caused and am ready to really make career progress again! A really bad job is not worth it IMO

Sent from my phone please excuse to typos.

This guy does sound very challenged as a human, let alone leader.
I hope you have some meeting, and get a workable solution for you. and your battered psyche.

for him.......
goodness? he sounds dreadfull. Beyond reproach. As he just doesnt 'get it'.
You can imagine his school report card stating "does not play well with others"
Yet too often bully's can be viewed as 'go getters!' and they are promoted above their level of empathy, and with power, set out to score points with carefully selected victims.

Work stress is a dreadful spot to find yourself in. No job is worth it. But lets face it, the rent still needs paying.
But knowing you are free to leave, once another position is found, can enable you to 'take more shit' temporarily.

Unless the company has some understanding of this guys nature, they will keep him in managment role. With you in vulnerable subordinate role. And be very happy to of 'resolved' the conflict between you two and move forward. I have seen this multiple times, unfortunately, we are unable to change our personalities past 5yrs of age, so what you have is a bastard, who will always be a bastard. And no amount of consequences will change that his is a bastard. But he may get a little more sneaky about who to.

So yeah, vote with feet when you can.

Well guys I'm back at the job today :) While bittersweet there have been some changes. Even though I'm working with the same guy he's not in the same room , let alone building. Although he still comes by and checks 6-8 times a day.....*shakes head* Better yet oddly enough the at the new sites there have already been complaints about him..........how "strict" and "micromanaging" he is, in fact there is another female he's been "having issues with". Mind you some of these people don't even work for him and are managers themselves.......So that kind of makes me feel good as it seems people know his true colors.

As for the meeting it didn't happen or at least it didn't turn out like I was expecting which is a good thing. In short basically both parties are doing a clean slate. I lost quite a bit a sleep over this last night, and to come to this is very nice to say the least I have a feeling things will sort themselves out in time.......

Neona, that's my goal, so far the job seems relaxed despite him "checking" up on us, in the mean time though I will search for something permanent. :)
