We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.
We use them at the shelter and the dogs seem to like them well enough. Another forum I'm in has a bunch of people who swear by perla beds (several brands, same concept) and that's what I'll be buying when I finally get around to it. One of the girls bought an XL and it was big enough for both her 200lb mastiff and 80 lb berner.
We've a Kakandu bed, Apollo's breeder swears by them, he was using one (as a 10 week old puppy) at her place, at our place he prefers to sleep on my coffee table (no, thats no a joke, I have pictures). That said our little guy likes the giant raised bed to sleep on so maybe I won't throw it out after all.
lol on the coffee table, Got to see those pics! There pricy so I want to make sure I do my research first, I will be using them outside in my kennels so I want them to be durable.
I have to add that I've seen lots of people swear by the Kuranda's, indoors and out. I've not tried the Kakadu outside, but its supposed to be ok in weather (I'd worry about wind picking it up though), the dogs have chewed the binding off the edges of the cover, but otherwise its held up well to general abuse.
When I showed that picture to his breeder she informed me I had a spoiled puppy, I told her there were some arguments not worth fighting and I'd decided that was one of them. It gets worse though, he does a really good gargoyle impression on my end tables.....guess its a good thing I like sturdy furniture!
I had a kuranda bed for my GSD and he loved it. He did somehow manage to crack the corners (which is weird because he wasn't usually destructive) so I definitely recommend getting the aluminum version. I'll be ordering one for Mason eventually.
For now he has a coolaroo
The coolaroo is fine for now, but it's nowhere near as sturdy, durable, or comfy looking as the K.
I have no idea, but he loves it. His current thing is to curl up into an impossibly small ball to curl up on to the end table thats squeezed between the couch and a huge display case. I have no idea how it could be comfortable (much less possible...)
