I can not wait to watch your boy grow. :)

When they are that young will they let you cuddle them? I know they are very independent animals, but I wasn't sure if that is from the get go or something they develop as they get older.

Depends on the pup/dog.

Yes.
D'Argo likes us a lot more than Athena ever did. He will follow us around. She never did that even as a young pup. She is pretty snuggly now though. She will lay next to me and lean on me. She also likes to be hugged. She still doesn't get excited when we come home and she won't come when called no matter how excited or goofy you act.

Such a fascinating breed!!!

Would you consider D'Argo a softer temp Tm then?

Hard to tell until he is older. Athena is pretty serious. Not like I have to lock her up when people come over but she's not interested in meeting new people or dogs. I have some friends that she's very fond of but most other people she just ignores and she wants to kill all the dogs she sees.

She was very well socialized too so I guess this is just who she is. I'm hoping that as she gets older, she'll mellow out on the dog thing. o_O

D'Argo's parents are both pretty laid back so maybe he'll have a softer temperament. Athena's mother was friendly but I'm not sure what her father was like. He's on the East Coast so I didn't get to meet him.

Remind me who her father is?
