Well, never looked at corso's so this is more of a general reaction to the site.

That intro on the front page rubs me wrong, though I'm not sure I can define why. I'd be willing to ignore that, but why does a breeder, supposedly located in TX, specifically state they have a puppy for sale in both Ohio and PA?

Continuing to dig through the site. I don't know that I like his dogs, but thats a personal taste issue. I have a TM not a corso for a reason lol. Why does he/she make such a huge deal out of shipping pups to Cali? Is there something in the corso world I'm unaware of in CA? Or is it a status thing? But they have a wholepage dedicated to "we sellpups to Californans!"......I don't know that I like that ALL his stock comes from one breeder. I didn't try to follow pedigrees so I don't know how closely they're all related but I find that bothersome. There ought to be outside blood in there. And the front page of that other breeder's site has a pic front and center of a small child straddling the back of one of the dogs, which just makes me cringe.....

I donno, none of this may mean a thing, especially since I don't know anything about the corso world. It'll be interesting to get other's opinions.

May I ask what it is tha draws you to this breeder in particular?
Not that there is anything bad, I am just curious. I do not know much about them, but I do not see them out in the ring. More advertising dogs that they did not breed, all their dogs come from Scandifio. I know they have been involved in the breed for a few years, bought a breeding pair that had produced well for Tony Scandy, but haven't seen anything they have done for themselves... Does that make sense?
Not saying anything bad, couldn't one way or another...
In Texas I would also check out
http://elmesquitalcanecorso.com/
And
http://www.phantomcorsos.com/
If possible I would go see as many breeders and dogs as possible. Erik (Phantom) is a pretty cool guy, and has some nice dogs with great type.

Lol, nothing special in CA.
A few CC, but the large majority of dogs are on the East Coast, so no... Sales pitch I would imagine, or alluding to fame ;)
The line breeding in Leo's litter is fairly far back, (great grand parents are 1/2 siblings) and leads to probably the most important CC litter in our relatively recent CC history. The Cerberus "B" litter, one of whom the standard of the CC was based after; Basir. That said most CC lead back to that litter some where. Not promoting the dog, just pointing out the pedigree.
You have to remember with the CC that it is still an establishing breed, meaning one type has yet to be established.
There will be lots of tight line breeding in kennels to maintain that before they risk the outcross.
Some times it works, some times it doesn't. I have learned a TON about different dogs by looking at the outcome of tight line breeding.
I personally have no issue with tight line breeding, as long as there is an out cross every now and then. Once the breed grows and gains some consistency hopefully that will be able to tone down a bit but...

Nothing in particular. I just started researching breeders in Texas and that was the firt one I looked at. I knew there were a bunch of CC owners and some breeders on here who may be able to point us in a good direction. I'll deffinitely keep looking and check out the two links you gave.

I have one of his pups from a litter last year as well as one of Phantom's, please PM me if you would like any further detail.

I would also highly recommend Dallas K9 who I know just recently had a litter, though I am not sure if they are all spoken for.

I can put put you in touch with any of these breeders if you would like, but I am only certain of what Dallas K9 currently has.

Ades is still owned by Mr. Whitt, but he is used in DK9A breeding stock, yes. The current litter ( I am not sure if spoken for) is Ades x Calypso and look stellar. I have seen some of he puppies from that same breeding last time and they look amazing and are working dogs for sure.

Hi, new here, though I've been browsing the forum for awhile. Cowhouse is a new breeder in gatesville but has beautiful stock. I've been out to check out their dogs, and I was super impressed with them. Eric (phantom ) is buddies with chad (cow house)
I'll be getting my pup in January from one of their litters. If I were back in the north, apex has some beautiful dogs.
