Hello everyone,
I have just recently acquired two Tibetan mastiffs 6 months and one 5 1/2 months both brought over from china around 2-3 months of age. Becerrillo the male suffered from altitude sickness and has recovered and Dominga the female is doing fine. They are both underweight and Becerrillo has awful plaque buildup on his teeth but, they are both amazing pups and get along with Atillah. They were both on a Kirkland turkey kibble diet when I received them and since then I have switched them to raw. They have had diarrhea since the diet change, about two days ago. I have no problem with that because the consistency of the feces seems to be getting thicker with every bowel movement. My biggest concern right now is that they are connecting the raw chicken with their diarrhea and have gone on a hiatus from food. What should be my next step in getting them to continue on their new diet. Also, I have no intention of feeding them kibble except as a LAST resort. They are also very aggressive with their meals. I began feeding them food by hand and I can take food from them if they are eating now (I took a risk). But, they seem willing to attack Atillah my Presa Canario if he walks past them, more realistically within about a five foot radius of their bone or meal, and id rather not have him getting worked up and hurting one of the new pups. They also seem to do this if they leave a bone or antler somewhere and he walks past it or near it. What I have been doing so far is taking the bone/antler away and shutting the whole operation down but, they have not stopped with the aggressive activity yet. So any advice on either subject would be great. Here are pics of both of them. Here is a pic of the boy. The girls pic is taking to long to upload so I will try it again later.
