Mmmmmm I love the smell of gunpowder and lead!

IT's ok friend. I have been collecting guns since i got my first .22 for my fourth birthday. It doesn't take much to give me the itch..

I just looked at a couple on gun broker. I shot a kimber on Sunday & it was way less kick than my 40 cal. I was shocked

The .40 round is known for it's "snap". I've only owned one .40 and it was the last one I'd ever own. IMO it's a round looking for a purpose. I've found that the .45 is way easier to shoot and....come on, it's a .45. I have a 1911 and a Kahr CW45 that I absolutely love. The 1911 is my nightstand gun while the Kahr is a great carry weapon. However, my favorite round by far is the .357. I have a Colt Python (6") and a Colt Trooper MkIII (3") that are a dream to shoot. Not to mention you can always shoot .38 special with them when the bank account requires it.

Gunny, I'm using this Taurus as a learning experience. I like it for the most part, just a couple things I don't like. My original thought was to get a 380 but knowing that I have a little more power with this 40, sits with me a little better. It won't be the only pistol I'll own, but it's a good starting point & something to get me on my way to getting my CHL.

Just my .02 but I'd never recommend a 380 for SD. Is there any particular reason you didn't got with 9mm?

No, I looked at some but the 380 was recommended to me as my first pistol by a friend. I chose otherwise

Gunny did you take a look at the Springfield Armory xd-s 45 I linked on page 2? I love a 1911 but this looks like a sweet little conceal big bore...SA builds nice stuff..

I do like the XD line of pistols. My 1911 is an SA (Range Officer) so I know they build quality pistols. If I were goint to buy another .45 though, I think I'd go with the M&P lineup. I just love the way they look and feel. YMMV.

Well took the guns out for the first time this year for some much needed stress relief. It is amazing how the smell of gunpowder can clear your mind and put your nerves at ease. Now for those of you that are thinking I may be some unstable loon I can assure you I'm not. I have just been around guns from a young age. Today we shot the 50 cal muzzle loader, 58 cal muzzle loader, 30-06, 22 and the double barrel 12 guage shotgun. It was a very entertaining 3 hours with the family.

Anyone else love guns?

Yes, I enjoy ballistic therapy too.

So I got my B-day present early. It was a 12 Gauge Double Barrel Side by Side SHOTGUN! It is Wooden stock and has the prettiest engraving in the Metal. It is a limited Edition. And it shots just like a Shotgun should :D

Well, I wouldn't say we love guns, but we live guns. I think we have somewhere near 2 dozen? My husband is always working on a gun, decking it out in optics, etc.

We shoot regularly, my dog is accustomed to sitting next to us while we do.

My husband teaches tactics to military, LEO and SWAT teams. I go to every class he teaches at least once, so I am the best trained woman I know. He also runs live fire scenarios that are pretty realistic and intense and I went on the last one and got to take the "kill shot". It was an experience of a life time.

I have a CCL and I carry a Sig Sauer P229 Enhanced Elite and I really really really like my gun.

Here is a picture of my "kill shot". In the dark (with a flash of flashlight), at 60 yards, with iron sights and tons and tons of sensory distractions. Smoke, flashing lights, fire crackers, yelling and "return fire". I was on the mission with 2 combat Marines (one being my husband) and an Army Ranger. In my husband's words "I am proud as fuck to call you my wife, operator!".

Haha that is sweet! I haven't shot a pistol before. Only ever had rifles. The Restricted Gun Laws are Nutso in Canada.

Jealous of your new shotgun! I have a 20 gauge but I'm wanting a 12 gauge. I've also got a 40 cal pistol & 270 rifle. The rifle just pisses me off bc it's not sighted in yet & I haven't had time to take it anywhere. Ugh. :(
