Yes, she is a 9 month old Airedale pup. There is a back story-- this pup's is a niece to Mateo's (former) best friend, an Airedale who died suddenly, earlier this year. They met and it was an instant love affair... My friend who owns Airedales live 9 months of the year on a cherry orchard in Oregon (the other 3 months they keep an apt. here in New York City.) The Airedales keep the deer away from their orchard---and yes, they can be fierce! A very strong deterrent against the deer--- if they cross the fence they will be killed. Usually, they don't dare cross over... But, I have to say, both Airedales they have owned have been total mushes with any and all dogs (and humans)...very sweet and playful. But, they have a very strong prey drive, so rabbits and deer are fair game. But they do discriminate--very interesting breed...

Very cute!We had an airdale in our level 3 obed class. What a firecracker he was!!! He was such a clown, but he definitely ran the show as far as the relationship between he and his owner. And VERY drivey.

That describes the ones I have known very well! Such clowns, but SO drivey... definitely not a breed for me, LOL. But for my friends, they are perfect -- not only are the owners very active (she runs with them almost every day, several miles---and the dogs STILL have energy to spare!), but they have a job for them to do, which they excel at. :)
