I always read about it on forums but I never thought I would be living next door to some. I've about had it with this place. Last night I came home after an uneventful attempt to drive and find a new place to rent.

There were four guys standing on a shared sidewalk in crowd, when I pull into into our "parking lot" they all scrambled and scattered.  When I was unloading my truck one guy was talking to me about Thor ( the same guy that thought Thor was a Saint Bernard) trying to hide the it behind his back. Of course they all were drinking and not beers.....Last night was probably the worst I've experienced here.
They had another party but this time between them going in and out of our only drive way numerous time they also had the music blaring.
The place is not that well insulated I can feel car music in my bedroom when cars go by on the street in front of me. So with them being right by my bedroom it was worse.  I want to move so bad.

I didn't want to live in an apartment environment because I didn't want to deal with multiple neighbors ironically despite my best efforts that's exactly what its like. I thought I found a place perfect in the country but the lady was hesitant when I told I might get another dane. She said she didn't want a puppy destroying her property.  Normally I would understand the concern but she was an animal lover herself with a farm with 50 dogs!!!!!! ( she breeds and sells mini Daschunds) I was disappointed in her response but what can I do? Yet she would rent to someone with two Australian Cattle Dogs.

Selling or exchaning it......I could be over reacting but from what I been witnessing since I've been here it doesn't take much to put 2 and 2 together.....

Would love too but not without my boys.

I'd be looking into a fire arm that's shady even though i'm sure Thor is a pretty decent deterrent

I understand what your going thru. The last apartment that I lived in there was a time when you could see someone make a phone call while standing outside the side door. A couple of minutes latter someone would come down and there was a not so subtle exchange of money for something in a baggie. Thankfully they were caught.

Right now my only fire arm I have is a golf club.

I wish that were true here smokeycat, but as long as the pay rent and hide from inspections nothing I can do, plus being by myself I have no advantage.

I would contact the drug task force or drug detective. It's really rather easy for them to bust them if they want to. Just stop a guy leaving, find drugs, let him go with no charges in exchange for a buy. Busted. I would also inform the landlord. Down here if the landlord knows and allows it, they can take or even bulldoze the property.

That's for the suggestion, but I'm staying out it. Its just another mental note for me to leave. I just feel bad for the actual owner of the property probably has no clue what's going on.

You must be careful in your area my friend! Apparently, drug trafficking is one of the wrecking diseases of the town. I have also read a while ago that going to vehicle auctions can occasionally net drug dealer cars. These that have been seized by law enforcement could be good and inexpensive. But what is often not considered is whether such cars should be at auction to begin with, considering the Eighth Amendment.I've read it here: Drug dealer car.

I did worry I drive a pickup so hopefully its no interest to them.

That sucks :( Good luck on you hunt for a new place! I'm sure something will turn up soon!

Thanks I hope so true. I found a guy who wouldn't mind the dog, cat, or the snake. I just hope he keeps his word, other than living by a train I its very nice.

I hate drug dealers, my parents had some drug dealers move next door to them and now they are trying to sell the house i grew up in because of the trash that moved in next door to them, its a pretty nice neighborhood too.

Drug dealers suck. My last rental the owners of the house lived upstairs and they were dealers. The son tried to get my daughter who was 15 at the time to deal for him at her school. Promised her a fairly good cut of the business. Thank goodness she had a good head on her shoulders and turned him down. I didn't find out until quite awhile after but as soon as I did, we were out. Bought the house Im in now.

I remember one night my daughter woke me up, it was around 1 or 2 am, and she had seen someone pointing a gun over the fence at the house. We called the police. At this time we were unaware of the goings on upstairs. My landlords were pretty freaked out the next day and were not too happy I had the police there. At the time I didn't understand their reaction. Jovo wasn't happy there either, when we moved into this house you could tell, he just "came home". He was a different dog in this house from the get go.

Goodness Kelly how scarey, I would have stayed in a hotel if it was that bad. My nerves could not handle it. Glad you were able to buy and get away from there, also kudos to your daughter for kicking that scum to the curb. If people want to do drugs that fine and dandy its their business however don't ruin the atmosphere for the rest of us.

The dogs know and now the whole family is in a better place, thank goodness

I am fortunate enough to say that its not that bad, however I still don't want to be involved around that.

It's not fun having to live with criminals. That is way we got a Fila. I love where I live and we are not going to move.

I agree Angelbears, most people say that Thor will deter them because of his size, well that maybe to true with most people however if you have "hardend" criminals or those really whacked out on drugs. Its not enough if they are determine to get something they will. I will invest in concealed weapons, but for right now a golf club will do.

There is a gal in my 4 plex who both buys and sells heroin. We've talked at lengths about it when I've confronted her in the hallway because I'm sick of seeing the traffic in front of the building. It's like a game for her now. She'll go outside and someone pulls up, "thanks so much for getting my groceries!! God bless!!"... BS
I've seen the slight of hand through the window thousands of times. I wasn't always such a good kid dontchaknow... She just thinks people are idiots and she sly. I've called the police a handful of times and reported the license plates and what I saw. I've also told her that there were some suspicious people by my truck and that I've set up a camera to keep an eye on the parking lot. Nothing phases her. She'll go up the street for a few days, and then it's right back to business as usual. She's older too, and has an 11 year old daughter that knows what's going on. Plus someone has alread kicked in her door last year... What unerves me the most is if the would be door kicker got the wrong door! I had the shot gun handy for a couple of months after that. Couch, remote, shotgun, set.

Can't wait to get back into a house!

Just reading your experiences makes me feel thankful its not that bad. Feel bad for complaining like this. While there is a A LOT of traffic through this duplex it has not been violent, although I did hear the neighbors yelling and fighting from time to time.

AKBull I hope you move into a house as well, are you planning anytime soon?

We're trying for the fall time, and I can't freaking wait. LOL I've turned into such a bitter person living there... Hallway is a romper room for all the neighbor hood kids, or the driveway is. Tough to go from living in a nice home for 12 years, to this. Silly divorces. :p
