Hank is HOME!

The vet said that Hank and his litter mates were the largest mastiffs at this age she had ever seen. The father, "Capone" is 30" at the whithers and 140 lbs. However gracefull and athletic. Mother Alexa is 26" and 110 lbs.

30 Lbs at 8 weeks is massive.. Can I ask a dumb question? what breed is this big little guy? Our 15 week Bullmastiff pup is already 51 Lbs.. and I thought "he" was on the large side. We have been recording his growth rate and I believe at 8 weeks he was only 24 lbs.. and at 12 weeks he was 38lbs.. he has been putting on about 3 - 4 lbs per week consistantly since we got him at about 8 weeks of age.. We expect him to top out at around 135 - 150.. You're little guy is going to be a monster.. Congrats on you're new addition to you're family..

Hank is Cane Corso. We expect he will end up about the same size as his father who pushes the standard for the breed at 140 lbs. Here is a pic of Hanks father, Capone:

Hank is curled up under the desk right now. Here is a pic with a dollar bill placed next to his head:

Yay! He is such a sweet looking pup. I'm sure you all are just happily snuggled up with him.

he certainly is one handsome dogger.. IMO Canes look to be a little taller and leaner than Bullys? not really sure?

Yes, taller and leaner however, just as muscular.

BTW, Thanks to everyone for the kind words, courtesy and useful information sans any "newbie initiation".

Wow! Your puppy is huge. Piper, my CC, will be 4 months old on Dec 22. We had a vet appointment Monday and she only weighed 42Lbs. I can't wait to see your little guy grow!

He is definitely a chow hound. My wife is a health food nut (I say that with all due respect and love) and feeds him raw and prepared food, kibble, plus supplements and healthy treats. Since it has not quite been a week yet, I am not exactly sure of "how much"

If there are other freaks like me out there, surfin' around looking at other folks Corsos, I have set up a Gallery on my website that has way too many pics of Hank, plus his parents Capone and Lexi, and many of his ancestors.

You are welcome to visit it here.
