Great Dane - dog aggression

I don't understand how this is any different than what glasgow is doing?? It's a more chaotic way of doing things really. What if the person is not strong enough to restrain the dog while feeding?

It is no different. Just shows someone doing the same thing in a more unpredictable environment which is what was requested. I actually think Glasgow has it right by doing it slower and giving more space and less distraction from the trigger. I personally would do it that way as everything can be more calm and controlled.

Right or wrong, good or bad, positive or negative....it's all up to the viewer to make those judgement. I simply asked for a video that shows what I asked for...karennj finally came through. I like glasgow's vids too....I just wanted to see it done in a different situation. That's all...it's not a competition or it wasn''t meant as a challenge like you seem to be making it. But I can't control how you choose to take things. I finally got what I asked for....thanks again, karennj. Now I can be done with this thread. Salute!

Thank you Hector for providing me with the videos I requested the results of positive only training on an SG, I think your off to a good start. The videos you posted is pretty good control. If that's as far as you want to take it that great. Now let me see the end results of pure positive raining on an SG with dogs and people just a few feet away and not half a football field away. I require a much higher level of control, I'm in the public too often with my three or visiting other trainers or have company over to settle for anything less than total control. The below links is an example of the level of control I'm referring to. The video was taken in the mid 1990s. In the video you will see myself with the male and female dogos and the male rottweiler. Across from me is the trainer/agitator and in the background is a friend with his male and female dogos. None of the dogs have been altered.

In the second video the important thing to note is the trainer with the pup near the highway no leash and no treats.

Hector, in a previous thread you asked what is ground work the above video shows a small sample of what ground work is. Everything the pup is doing is what the adult dogs have already gone through. In a second thread you were asking for advise on how to control Hector with a female in heat around. The advise I gave you was sound. Were I went wrong was not taking into account that you may not have done the above ground work. A hundred females in heat can walk in that room and not one dog or pup would break their command to stay I know because I have witnessed it.

Karennj I'm not trying to embarrassed anybody or put them down I simply want to know if a the other systems can produce the above results or better in the same amount of time or shorter. There are members and visitors with real serious dogs out there. I want them to know what each system has to offer and let them make up their own minds.this thread I think did an excellent job of verbally and visually showed the pros and cons of of two opposites ideologies. I say let the people decide.

By the way I will match the bond I have with my dogs against anybody in the world. The above videos and the other on different threads show relaxed, stress free dogs waiting for their next command or for me to come home.
