I'm starting Merrick Grain Free Real Buffalo & Sweet Potato today moving from Eukanuba.
Merrick is about $60 a bag I also mix in some Merrick wet cans with his dry food. Any one have experience with Merrick Grain Free? Been using the Merrick wet cans for 2 weeks now and have no problems.

I use the Merrick for my old shepherd but they don't list their calcium levels on their bag or website so you'd have to contact them to see if they are appropriate for mastiff pups under 2.

Well I went out last night and got the Blue Buffalo for Maxx, the Wilderness puppy formula and I am going to slowly transition this time. Also I will wait out his "hunger strike".

Acana Pacifica is great. There's no one particular food that's best. Earthborn Holistics Great Plains feast, coastal catch or meadow feast; orijen 6 fish, blue buffalo wilderness duck or salon are all good foods.

I was planning on getting some Acana . I took a look at the official website and I thought I should get the formula "Puppy large breed"; how come do you recommend Acana Pacifica?
Thank you and sorry to bother you again :)

Puppy formulas are usually marketing gimmicks and there's really no need for it. They are almost always identical to the adult formulas while being more expensive and requiring you to feed more. Also mastiffs are giant breeds not large breeds :) in the case of the Acana LBP it's also not grain free or chicken free and as many mastiffs have issues with one or the other, I'd advise avoiding them both.

My 8 month old CC had issues with just about everything I tried blue buffalo-orijen, but Acana Regionals Ranchlands has been the best thing that's ever been made for mine. I'd recommend it!

Ranchlands is incredibly high in calcium for a growing giant breed puppy. Puppies under 2 should never have over 1.8% calcium and the Ranchlands has 2.3%.
