Getting to Know You

Mooshi's Mummy

Well-Known Member
First Name or preferred name: Tammy but my hubby calls me Georgie as my 2nd name is Georgina. My mom calls me Tilly.
Occupation: Office Manager and the only female in an Engineering Design office of 30 men. I must have been a bad person in a past life!
Age: 45 but act and feel 18
About your dog(s): 3 and a bit year old Akita called Bear who is a Pets as Therapy Dog and a daft, slightly stupid cuddle bum. 2 and half year old Tibetan Mastiff called Mooshi who I show and is a mummies girl as much as a TM can be. They are my pride and joy who I would lay down my life for and my only 'kids'
Interests: Reading, travelling of which I have done a fair bit before the dogs, my dogs of course and being a kind and good person.
Favorite music: Anything really. Oldies, country, the Stones, the Eagles, Barry White, The Cowboy Junkies, Black Eyed Peas, you get the idea. Even some rap if its good.
Favorite book: Loads, I read constantly. Too many to mention. The Joy Luck Club comes to mind but then so does The Kite Runner and Angela's Ashes. The Help was moving.
Favorite quote: If you cant say anything nice dont say anything at all. I also read once when reading other peoples theories on if animals have souls and it stuck with me and will be a tattoo one day 'if there is no God for thee, there is no God for me'. I found that quite moving and something I felt strongly about.
What's on TV?: Right this very moment? A show called Room 101. I dont watch a lot of TV but when I do I prefer movies. I watch the news in the morning and thats about it. I prefer to read than watch TV.
Random fact about yourself: Hmmm...thats a hard one. Oh I know...I cant stand still when I brush my teeth. I have to walk around, I've done it since I was a kid. My husband laughs at me and says 'and she's off'. I do stuff as well at the same time, like tidy or put the kettle on or find socks to wear. Im a freak.

Totally relate to this!
I can't brush my teeth or put my makeup on in front of the bathroom mirror without having my right leg/knee resting on the counter. My grandma always called me her little flamingo because of it. I can't break the habit.

If I run a bath and I put my hand in to test the water I have to dry it off before getting in the bath. It makes no sense at all but I can help it, i cant touch things with wet hands...even if they are just about to get in the bath!

Since we are sharing brushing teeth ..
I have to brush my teeth with tooth paste, then brush my teeth with Listerine.

You're not the only one. My wife does this too, although I really didn't notice it as much until she recently got an electric toothbrush. Now I hear that thing buzzing all of the time all around the house while she's getting ready in the morning. She took it all the way upstairs this morning (opening windows while brushing her teeth.)
